Cleeve Candles Haul

Lush and candles if you have read my blog in the past you will know is two things which I adore so over a year ago when I found a little company who did lush scents in wax tart form I was all over it. I knew that I would be purchasing more and more from them that company is Cleeve Candles. They are a store which can be found on etsy and at the moment are only selling one day a month on what they call restock day to find out when the next one is you will have to visit their site, however, I can tell you it will be towards the end of September now.

These are items which I managed to pick up in the restock night back in June I meant to share these with you before however, have just not got round to it which seems to be the story of my blog at the moment and for that I apologise. The first item which I picked up was this huge pie which is a blend of 3 of lushies ultimate fragrance which if I remember correctly is 29 high street, calacas and snow twilight which if you know me is a few of my favourite scents from the company. I am going to be ableto break this huge pie into a lot of different pieces which means that I am going to get a lot of burning time into my wax burner. I think a huge pie like this is around the £11 mark I may be a little bit wrong.

In the summer months is there anything better than the smell of suncream been applied well I do not think so this was one of the reasons behind me purchasing this wax. I think it is one which I am going to adore burning when the weather is been typically British and not that warm even though it is summer. On dry sniff it smells a little bit different to what I thought it was going to but hopefully when I actually end up burning a chunk of this I will like it if not I will end up selling it on so that someone else can get the joy out of this wax.

One of my favourite scents from Lush is Calcas which is a scent which was out a few halloween’s ago now it is the scent of monster ball for anyone who may have tried that last year. I adore this scent and could not think of anything better than my whole house smelling of the scent the only way I can kind of describe this is sour gummy worms if you are fan of these sweets then maybe this one if for you. I have a few tubs of this because I love the scent so much and they are not available every single destash night. I can not wait for the weather to change a little bit so I can start burning wax more and more.

Lime cooler is one which I thought I would pick up as well due to the fact that you do not see much wax which is a lime scented at all. I love lime for some reason the name of this makes me think of Costa maybe because a lot of their cool drinks are called coolers. You can sure tell when you get this that there is a hell of a lot of lime in it almost makes me want to eat it even though I know that would be a stupid idea and no doubt very dangerous. I think this is going to be one which I am going to burn when I am missing the summer rather than one I am going to burn right now give it a couple of weeks to a month and I can see this been one which I am burning. For some reason, I have managed to already lose the picture of this which is never good and I already have started to burn this.

Mango and Pineapples are a couple of fruits which I love to consume in the summer months so when I saw that Cleeves was doing a blend of them in wax tart form I knew I had to have some. If a couple of fruits scream summer to me more than these I do not know what it is. I can smell more mango than I can pineapple but this is not something which bothers me at all. I think that the blend is not too overpowering like some of the other companies which I have tried. This for sure is one which I am going to be burning in the near future.

My favourite I think I am going to claim from the whole of my haul is this little wax melt which is Slushie yes it is based on the blue raspberry slush puppy’s that you used to be able to get when I was a growing up. I am unsure if you can still purchase them now I don’t think I have seen them in a while. This smells just spot on I can not believe how much even on dry sniff I thought it smelt like this. It almost makes me want to hunt down a slush right now because they smell that amazing, Even Jess keeps stealing this sniffing it and going nice so it much is a firm favourite. This is going to be one which was soon as my tart burner has some room I am going to be burning. Just look how pretty it is how could anyone say no.

Have you tried Cleeve Candles? Could you recommend any other companies who make so amazing wax tarts?

Flamingo Candles – July Box 2017

July’s box came with a theme of Pool Party which really suits the month because we have been having such a heat wave in the UK. I think everyone has been wanting to have them if they haven’t been there anything better than cool water in this heat. I have to say how amazing the packaging is in this box as well because we have unicorns. watermelons and doughnuts which all seem to be on trend at the moment and they are all in emjoi’s.

This month has a really cool selection of melts so without further ado I will share with you the scents. The first one which I unboxed was pomegranate cider which makes me think of sipping the fruit ciders in either a beer garden or at the minute more likely the back garden. This smells really autumnal almost to me because of the fact that I associate the pomegranate with that time of year more than I think of it in the summer. This is actually one which I really do like and can see myself burning very soon even though I have a hell of a lot of melts to burn.

Watermelon is not a strong scent so to me I actually have no association with a scent for this candle which is shocking, however, instead of it smelling fruity like you might think that it should because it is a fruity scent to me it smells a hell of a lot more clean and fresh which if you have read my candle posts in the past you know I love this kind of scents. This for sure is going to be one which I am actually going to be burning in when the weather cools down a little bit because at the moment I am finding it slightly too hot to be burning.

Mango and Dragonfruit wax tart is heaven to me because as someone who absolutely adores the scent of Mango as long as it is not made to smell like it is too artificial. Flamingo candles have made it so that this scent is not too artificial so this is one which I love so much because it smells like real mangos do as bad as it sounds it smelt that fresh that I almost wanted to eat the candle. Don’t worry I resisted the urge because I know it would not do me any good. This for sure is going to be another one which is burnt very soon because it has to be nearly one of my favourites from this box.

Beach Balls to me should smell of rubbery plastic or is that just me who has the smell of that when they think of beach balls. This tart to me doesn’t have the scent of this because this would not be something which would be very pleasurable to burn, however, for me this is not a tart which has a lot of scents. The small scent which I can smell does not remind me of anything this for sure is going to be one which is added to the collection but not burnt for a long time.

Lemon curd is the next one which I picked out of the box and this is one which I love even though I am a huge fan of sweet scents this one to me is not actually too sweet at all which makes a change because I know so many of these can be. To me, it smells more like Lemon which you would find in cleaning products rather than a sweet one which is not something which you would expect from a product which is meant to be lemon curd scented.  This for one is going to be one which I am burning very soon.

Pineapple and Raspberry are not too fruits which you would think about putting together when it comes to the summer months however, they are both summer fruits which I adore. I am unsure which scent I get the most of when I dry sniff this I think it is actually the blend is amazing. I think that it is something which should they do the scent in a medium candle or something like this I would repurchase because of the fact that I really like it so I might have to go on the hunt for this.

The next one which I picked out of the box was this lovely sweet lime and cedar scent which really is one which I enjoy this is because of the fact that I love the citrus scents which we are the notes which I get when I give this a dry sniff. I am unsure what the cedar is meant to be to be so this could be another reason why I am more attracted to the sweet lime element.  This is another one which I would love to purchase should it be able to get in in another form rather than a wax tart as I have a lot of them to get through. For sure this is one I will be burning in the next few months though.

The final item which was in this box was the Thai Lime and Mango scent which is surprising as we have already had a lime fragrance in this box. I love mango the scent as long as it is not too artificial which this is not it smells like the actual fruit which is alway a winner in my book. I do actually get a mix of both of these scents which is one that is nice because it is very fruity which is amazing because it is a scent that I adore. I think I might claim that this is my favourite in the whole box because it is that amazing and when I have space in my tart burners.
What if your favourite scent out of this months box? Do you have any recommendations of companies that I should try?

Convert Old Candles to Wax Tarts

As you might know I am a huge candle addict however I hate it when you get to the bottom of a candle and you actually  have some wax left but the candle will not light as the wick has burnt out. I decided that I was sick of it so much I wondered if I could turn some of my favourite candles into wax tarts and actually enjoy them in my wax tart burner. I have done this a couple of times now with great success so I have decided that I am going to share how I do it with you.

The first thing which you need to do is find a candle which you like which you have burnt as far as down as you can, I have this Cranberry one which was a dupe for bath and body works which I picked up from B&M at Christmas time, I actually finished this one in about February but just haven’t converted them into tarts till now.

As you can see I have burnt as much as I can the wick has now disappeared and this means that I can not light it even thought there is actually a ton of wax left. You do not need a lot of things to turn them into tarts you need a kettle to boil water in a mixing bowl and am ice cube tray. You can use your normal mixing bowl however, I think I would use a spare ice cube tray because you are going to pour hot wax in them and I would not want to then make ice cubes with the same tray in case there is something in the wax which makes them undrinkable.

The first thing which I do after boiling the water is pour it in to a mixing bowl making sure that the fill line is actually above the amount of wax. The reason that it needs to be boiling water is so that the wax actually melts. Make sure that you pour the water in the bowl not into the candle because if this occurs it will mean that you are diluting the wax so it will not be strong scented when you go to burn the tarts. ,You need to make sure that all of the wax is meted before you pour it it may take a while so you need to be patient.

Once all of the wax is melted slowly pour the wax make sure that you do not get too close to the the top because you need to be able to pop them out when the wax has actually has actually dried, Depending on the amount of the wax which you have you may get multiple tarts I think from the one which I have shown you I managed to get 6 small tarts which are the same size as ice cubes. They still have the same amount of scent as when it was a candle and this way means that you do actually get to use the most of the candle.

Have you got a favourite candle which you wish was not running out that you would love to turn into wax tarts?
