Top Alternative Father’s Day 5 Ideas 2017

This post is a reminder for some of you that it is Father’s Day this Sunday don’t worry I hear you all panic there is still time to get an awesome gift and get it delivered in time. Don’t worry there is a range of different items because I know not all Dad’s are the same because I know I could not get the same present for Joe as I would my own Dad.

The first item which I am going to share with you in this gift guide is are Panasonic Multi Room Speakers these are something which I am sure that Dad’s who are technical would actually like or those who are into music.  These clever speakers allow you to fill a whole room with the music which you want to listen to you can take them out into the garden as well use to a number of them including the SC-All05 having a 9-hour battery life. This allows your dad to have music playing while you all have a nice family summer BBQ this summer. They are also waterproof which means you can have the music playing in the rain should you continue to BBQ when the weather changes.

Panasonic do a range of different wireless multiroom speakers including the SC-All7CD which allow your dad to have the whole of his CD collection, itunes library or any online subscription such as Spotify on this one device. It allows the whole collection to be saved on the memory which the speakers have allowing you to stream that any time when requires meaning your house could always be connected. With the music you adore always playing out. Obviously the speakers may not be in everyone’s budget this fathers day as they range from £170 to £380  you could maybe chip in with other siblings and get this gift.  This is a gift I can imagine giving Joe and end up using a hell of a lot more because I love my music a lot more than he does I think.

Raging Bull is a clothing brand that I was introduced to by David from DadVWorld if you haven’t checked him out you should do. Raging Bull is a company which is part owned ex-England Rugby Player Phil Vickery. They do some amazing clothing however, the items which I love the most are these polo shirts they remind me of Hollister if you think your dad would like the Hollister but you do not think that he is cool enough to rock them. These raging bull ones are amazing they look so smart you could wear them to events such as family meals when you need to look a little smarter than you may normally do.

They also do a huge range of different clothing some of the other items such as the rugby shirts remind me of the ones which you seen in stores such as cotton traders if you have ever visited that store.I personal think that they are something which I know a few of the males in my life would like.
You can purchase Raging Bull from their website they do a wide range of clothing so if polo shirts or rugby shirts are not something your Dad wears you might find something. These polo shirts are £45 however, from the reviews I have heard they sure are worth the money. I think they are going to be something which I may purchase Joe for Christmas hopefully he will forget about this post before. I would have purchase for my Dad however, I am unsure if he would like them due to been picky with styles.

This is a picture of something which we have done previously for the grand parents we have made them photo albums of Jess. Apoligises for the poor quality picture bit it is the only one which I have of the photo albums. Last year for Father’s Day I made Joe a memory stick full of pictures of Jess which he could load on his digital photo frame. So depending on the age of your Dad/ Grandad you could do either option. Personally, I love this idea should you be like us who have Grandparents who do not see their Grandchildren a lot because things like this mean more even to the men who may not admit it as often. You can use apps such as Freeprints which I have mentioned previously and you can purchase photo albums or even make your own scrapbook. You do not have to make them Winnie the Pooh theme like the ones in the picture I am sure if you look you can get some which are a little bit more masculine.

You could make a album full of memories which you have had with this person for example I have done scrapbooks as well of Jess’s first year of life as well as one which have been full of Jess’s cake smash which she did for her first birthday. We have done this so that people can remember the occasion and I am sure will love looking back at herself when she is older. This gift would not break the bank and sometimes the gifts which have had a lot of thought put into them are the ones which go down the best. This reminds me I need to update Joe’s memory stick when he comes back as all the pictures are at least a year old now.

Another idea for Father’s Day is to take your Dad out for a meal beware some places may make you actually book in advance if you want Sunday. Depending on what kind of food your family like there are a range of places you could go to eat. I back in February did a review of Wildwood which would be an amazing restaurant to eat and would not actually break the bank. They do some amazing Italian food as well as burgers this is a place that you could easy have just a main meal or have a three course meal. I seem to remember when I have been previously a 3 course meal for 2 people came to around the £50 mark. I know not every city has a Wildwood I am just lucky that we have one in York however, you could take your Dad to his favourite restaurant it could even be somewhere that does a nice carvery.
This is an option which I would do with my own Dad however, we are both working on Sunday together which means that it could be very late and we will just want food as soon as we get home rather than having to wait in a restaurant which could be very busy. You do not have to take him for food on Sunday if you are like us and could be busy you could do it whenever it actually suits you. Another option is order a takeaway and maybe watch some tv or a film you both like as it will give you the quality time together which is sometimes what means more than spending £100’s on an physical gift. This is what I have found from my past experiences.
The final item of this is on going in this round up which is these shave by touch shavers from EvoShave. These amazing shavers are designed for Men but I am not ashamed to admit that I used these. I was lucky to receive some just before Christmas and I have never had a problem with them I must admit. The have a touch strip which you rest your fingertips on and it gives you control and also it is meant to give you perfect precision,  These would be great for the Men in your life who love to actually maintain there beards as you could use these shavers to make sure everything looks neat.
Instead of having multiple blades like a lot of the regular shavers which you see on the market do evoshave only have one blade which means that the blade gives you the ultimate sharpness, strength and durable. I have had one of mine which I have been using for 2 months however, I know that I will not use it as much as Men do because I don’t shave my legs till I need to benefits of not going on dates and tights hide your leg hair.  The top of the shaver has been personalised for father’s day they actually say super dad on the top where you put fingers they also say it underneath.  These shavers are so cheap they are only £4.99 and available on Amazon

Lush Father’s Day 2017

Lush is not somewhere where you think of straight away when you think of purchasing a gift for father’s day however, for the last two years Lush have launched a Father’s day collection so this year I decided to go and pick it all up and give you my first impressions on it all.

The first items is the only bath bomb in the collection and this is superdad this is a large bath bomb compared to the mum which came out in the mother’s day collection. I think it could be one of the widest ones lush actually do. The scent of this is one which is quite unique and almost like nothing they do it is a woody but smokey smell which almost makes you think of Dad’s and almost the fragrance they use. My dad is not one who is likely to go in the bath so this bath bomb is going to be one which I will end up using no doubt in the winter as I am loving my Christmas scents at the moment.

Dirty Styling cream is something which is new this year a styling cream basically means that it is like a gel where you can put it on flyaways or if you are a man you may use it to spike your hair up. I currently am trying to use up a lot of my hair product up but this is one which I can not wait to try out because of the fact that it is dirty scented. I have become a huge fan of this scent recently. Dirty for those who have not smelt it is almost like a mint mouthwash scent is the best way I can describe it. It has spearmint and mental crystals in which makes it a very cooling mint scent I have a feeling that this going to be a great product to use in the summer months because of the ingredient I think this could be one which I pick up a couple of before it disappears.

Smuggler’s Soul is a scent which has 3 items in this collection this year the first of them is the facial scrub as some of you know I adore scrubs with my favourite been ocean salt. However, this s
crub really does not smell of much which for me is disappointing because I really do love the smuggler’s soul scent. This is going to be one which is going to be able to take off a lot of the dead skin off my face which in theory should mean that my make up will apply even better than it is currently.  I have because I think they might be something which Joe would like to try when he comes back and as you know Lush do not keep things in after the occasion usually only a month.

The next item which I picked up from the range is the multipurpose cream which you obviously can use like a body lotion  which is what I usually do with products like this.  Smuggler soul is perfume which came out a year or two ago I can’t remember. The scent of it is  lemongrass and sandalwood which makes it very warm and smoky which makes it smell a little bit manly but this is something which I actually adore. The thickness of this is pretty thick which means that the the it really moistuises your skin.  This is one which I can see me picking up a couple more of before the end of the collection because I do actually love it.

Modfather is another which was out last year as well this is in the only bubble bar in the range which to some people may seem strange as lush are known for their bubble bars and bath bomb yet there is hardly any in this small collection.  This design is like the MODS from the 60’s and I feel like one of the smallest bubble bars which we have. However, the scent of this is to die for I have a couple from a last years still left. It is a such a orange scent which is amazing as you may know if you have read some of my precious hauls I love the citrus scents it smells like bouncing bunny which is one of my all time favourite shower gel.

The final item of  the Smuggler’s soul solid shampoo bar because if you are not familiar with shampoo bars you lather them up in your hands and then put it all over the hair. These can last months I think one of my old solid shampoo bars lasted me around a year but then I do only wash my hair once a week. Again this smells like smuggler soul but I have a feeling that this is one of the strongest scent out of the three products which have just been launched.  For me when I used these kind of shampoos I can get a whole week without having to was wash my hair sometimes I only have to use dry shampoo once as well this shows how clean lush makes you.

The final item from the father’s day range is the stairway of heaven which is a huge guitar if you go in stores some of the stores actually have them. The soap smells like palmoviolets if you are a lush fan it does smell like daddyo shampoo I had to pick this one because it is the shampoo which Joe has been using before he left which means that I have not managed to start using this. Don’t worry I purchased him a huge chunk which he can have when he comes home and if he doesn’t want it woo more for me.

Have you ever thought about purchasing Lush for Fathers’ Day?

Getting To Know Dad

Father’s Day is an occasion which we are yet to celebrate actually been together as a family and this will be the second one which we have had Jess for.  The reason behind this is because this time last year he was at work in Ireland it was close to his 6 months out there and then, of course, this year he is out in the Falklands.  Joe’s birthday falls around the father’s day this year it is the Monday before which means that it makes the occasion a little bit harder because we have to get him to sets of presents.

I was reading the lovely Harriet’s blog where she did an interview with her children so that you could find out a little bit more about the guy her kids call Dad. As you can imagine Jess is a little bit too young to do this but due to the fact that he is featured more on my blog now due to us doing the Dear Dada series every Sunday, I thought I would still answer the questions so you can get to know him a little bit better.

Daddy and Jess have done some pretty fun things together however, I think I would say that some of the most fun things they have done together are when they have spent time together either in the park or the beach because both of them seem to go crazy and have so much fun.

One of Daddy’s favouite things to do when he is not spending family time is to be gaming with his online friends I am unsure how they all will have coped without him because of the fact is can not play with them while he is out there. I think they will be some serious catching up to be done when he is back good job it is going to be winter and Jess will not want to play out as much.

Due to the fact that Jess is still so young, I don’t think that there is anything Joe does which makes her think Daddy stop it but I am sure this is something which will change in the next few years as she gets older because we all have Dad’s which want to embarrass us.

Daddy is in the Army which means that he has to go away to work a lot currently he is on a 6-month deployment and we hope to see him sometime in September for a couple of weeks if we are lucky that is. He is fully home in November.

A stay at home gaming Dad he would love to be able to game and watch Jess grow up because I know this is something which he hates when he is not around the time which he misses out on. Maybe one day when I am a millionaire he can do this.

Family time because after all, Jess is his work she is his little princess and she means more than the world to him.

Daddy is really good at driving Mummy around when she demands to go places and can not be bothered to go alone as well as gaming and been a great all around Daddy.

Captian America or Thor because they are mummy’s favourite people in the world

I personally don’t know that Daddy has not had many which have been abroad so I am going to say Norfolk and if he is read it he will know why.

Canada to see one of his friends and maybe to America because it is a place where before Jess was born he thought about moving to live

A family day because not everything is about the gifts maybe he would love some sweeties because we all know he can not resist Haribo

Why not take part in this tag and let us know a bit more about your Dad?

What We Did In June

Hi Guys
Sorry we have not posted much recently but you will see why if you continue reading this post we have both been busy and we have had illness as well.
The first weekend of this month we made the long trip to North Wales. Jess finally got to meet her great grandad and his wife it has only took her nearly 9 months however the drive is around 4 hours and we have been busy since she has been born. This meant Jess had her first stay in a hotel which she didnt like there travel cot it’s not as padded as Daddy’s so she slept with me she adored the breakfast though. The next day we drove back and went to catch up with some other family members including her great great nana who loves her so much even though she has lost the ability to speak following a stroke. Jess also went to see her great great auntie who she has walking with her and making her laugh .

The following weekend it was Daddy’s birthday so we went with him down to Grantham were he is from. We managed a trip to the park on the Saturday before having a meal with family and a couple of friends. Grandma and Grandad managed to look after Jess so me and Joe could have a good night out which is always a bonus because we really don’t get many of them at all we don’t have much time together maybe that’s why. We bought him a supercar day so hopefully he will enjoy that when he gets to go on it.
We then took a trip on the train to York the day before Father’s Day so that Joe and Jess could spend there first Father’s Day together even though it was early. We went for a walk around and managed to have a beautiful pasty and ended up having a play in a park close to the railway station which fun. Jess decided that because Daddy doesn’t have many pictures of her bought him a digtal photo frame with a memory stick with all the pictures of her on it. I managed to spend the following day with my dad in Castleford watching our rugby team.

The following week saw me, Jess, Grandma and my brother go on a Monday to Friday break at Blue Dolphin. Jess took it upon herself to make us go to soft play which she adores it wears her out then she has to have 2 hour naps after it. I don’t think I have known her sleep as much as she did in that week. On the Thursday night Daddy came up and then we had a spontaneous trip to Bridlington on the way home. We enjoyed a lovely walk along the front Jess was a little bit too small to go on the beach this time. We had an lovely pub lunch while Jess chilled out in her pram.

As you can tell we have had a busy month in June. Follow us on Instagram to see pictures of what we get up to we post daily @cupsofcharlotte we would love to see you over there.
