Getting your toddler to brush their teeth can be a huge struggle this is something we have found usually when Jess is teething that she does not want to. Let’s face it who would like to be put their toothbrush on an area which is already very sore thank gosh we do not actually remember what it is like when we get our teeth. I am very lucky having a child like Jess who actually really does like to brush her teeth and sometimes she will ask randomly during the day to brush her teeth.
Usually Jess will brush her teeth in a morning after she gets washed which is around the same time as I manage to brush mine I think it is important to do it at the same time every day as it gets her used to it been part of the routine and something which she is not going to forget to do. I know as she is growing up will put a small amount of the toothpaste we actually used adult ones but check that it is suitable for under 6-year-olds. This is something I was told I could do from my dentist as people can find to remove their child from children’s toothpaste after the age of 6 because they are used to sweet flavours and not the harsh mint flavour. This is a tip which I would pass on to any other parent because for sure it is one which has saved us money not having to have two lots of toothpaste.
I let Jess brush her teeth herself the first time because I feel like it gives her a little bit more independence. This is not something which she needs more of but it helps her to feel like she is a big girl and something which she loves. Of course, because brushing her teeth is such a big job I do take some more toothpaste and make sure that she has done a good job because tooth decay is something which I do not want her to struggle with in the future.
Since Jess has had teeth we have used the wisdom toothbrushes. The reason for this is that they are small enough that toddlers can grip them meaning that they can have more control of the toothbrush making their cleaning skills even better which is always something that you want as a parent. I make sure that she does go to the dentist every 6 months one so that she gets used to having to go and doesn’t become scared like I am. Also due to the fact that they can check her teeth which makes double sure that together we are doing a good job.
Taking care of your teeth is something important as they are the teeth you have for the rest of your life and you do not get a chance to change them without huge costs. This is something which I hope Jess keeps up as she grows and hopefully the products she uses to continue to work for her.
What do you use to clean your little one’s teeth?
A fair few weeks ago the lovely guys at Blended Parent choose me to review so Original Dr Beckmann cleaning products. As you know as a parent cleaning and more so washing is something which you have to do more and more of as children become dirty and end up staining clothing items. Now cleaning inside the washing machine is not something which you often think about doing, however, this really clever treatment leaves your washing machine clean and hygienically,
I will be the first to admit our washing machine has started leaving out clothes with white pieces on. So I decided it was time to use this and see if this helped with the issue all you do is put the whole treatment one box is one treatment into the wash on its own and put it on a normal cycle so for me this is around 1 and half hours since doing this the issue with the white has stopped and I don’t know if this is actually true or just something in my head but my clothes look to be coming out cleaner. I know one treatment is £3.50 and can be found in most supermarkets I personally have seen this in Asda and feel like it is something which I may be using in once every 2/3 months in my washing machine as I do not feel like they would be much benefit doing it anymore regular.
The next item which we were lucky to be send was these colour and dirt collectors which remind me of the colour catchers which everyone at uni used to use and rave about, this help prevent the colour from fading which I have found great because Jess has some super bright pieces for the summer and when you purchases them from shops which are a little bit cheaper they can fade a hell of a lot quicker. I have noticed when I have used these that they have not faded as much, however, I am unsure if this is because they were better quality or if it is because of the fact that this product works I think that they are something which I am going to have to use a lot more. I can report that they do stop colours running because of the of the fact I put some bright colours in the wash as well as some whites and they did not run which has happened to me in the past and the whites have become a horrible light pink colour.
The final item which I got sent was the pre-wash stain devils which you put on the stain for 10 mins before you put in the wash, As a mum of a child who goes to a nursery where they fold their dirty clothes up and put them in a nappy bag which means getting the stains out can be pretty hard to get out. I have used them on a couple of stains, however, I have had mixed results on one it helped and the stain came out fully and it meant that Jess has been able to wear them again. However, with one of the stains, I did find that I could not get it some stains out however, they were very deep ones and this meant that I may have to do this a couple of times. I just have not had time to try it again.
Overall this is a brand I would recommend if you have children because stain and keeping things clean can become an issue and this is something which can help you with this problem.
Have you ever tried something from the Orginal Dr Beckmann?
When I was in hospital with Jess I used cotton wool and water when she had her nappy changed however, this soon changed when she came home and used baby wipes we have used a range of different brands so expensive and some budget ones. Jess does not have sensitive skin so this has allowed us to do this we have not found the ones which our favourites yet.
Back in September time one of my lovely blogger friends Emily told me to contact WaterWipes as they were working with bloggers. These wipes are like nothing we have tried previously they are 99.9% water which means that they are super wet which is great when you have a baby like Jess would can have food around her mouth and can be hard to remove with baby wipes. These do the job no problem and even remove dirty bums so quickly without the need to use multiple wipes like other brands sometime do.
These wipes are going to be something which we will keep an eye out for in the future because they are so good even my mum agrees with me and she has used plenty of baby wipes in her time. These would be amazing for babies with sensitive skin I have even used them occasionally to remove makeup off my own face.
12 pack of these can be purchased on Amazon for as little as £18 which makes them only slightly more expensive than likes of Huggies and Johnsons. These may become a staple in our changing bag now more so as Jess gets into more mess as she explores.
Have you tried WaterWipes if so what do you think?
We were kindly gifted these wipes however, all words and opinions are my own.
Today I am going to share with you how I clean my make up brushes. Cleaning my brushes is something which I have got better at over the past few months I now clean them every Sunday as long as I am not busy because this is a day I tend to give my skin a break and not wear make up so it does not matter if my brushes are not available to me.
Back in May time I picked up the Primark Facial Cleansing Pad I never had any intention of using it for it’s given use. I wanted to use it for cleaning my brushes only because I had read on blogs that it was a cheap way to deep clean your brushes as these are only £1.50.
I stick this pad on my sink which stays because of the fact that it has a suction pad. I then apply a small amount of Baby Shampoo to the pad and in circular motions I rub the brush against the cleansing pad. This is when the make up starts coming out of the brush and this makes you cringe how dirty your brushes get if you don’t clean them regular.
This is a cheap way of cleaning your brushes but it is an effective way. I have seen so many brush cleansers but always wonder if they work as effective as this method. This takes me no longer than around 15 minutes to do the brushes which I have used in that week this is something which I like to keep on top of.
