I find that December is all about looking back at the year more so once we are over Christmas and heading towards New Year. People never really seem to reflect on Christmas I found this tag last Christmas however I did not have time to publish it so I thought I would share it this festive season.
Christingle is one of the items which I actually featured in my July favourites which is surprising as this body conditioner is actually part of the Christmas collection this is why I have waited so long to do the review because you should be able to get your hands on this product now.
I really love using this should I have really bad sunburn in the summer months but also I love to use it on very aching muscles which I may have from all of the exercise which I do I walk at least 5 miles most days which means that sometimes I get very tired muscles and this works wonders for that.
If you do not know how a body conditioner works you just lather it all over your body before getting out of the shower, I do this away from the flow of the water to prevent water getting in the pot and also massage it into my skin before been washed away. Then you get back into the shower and rinse the lotion off. I have used it as a body conditioner as well in the past this is if you want a more intense use.
This body conditioner does actually moisturise your skin which is something which we all need in the winter months you do not need to use of the body conditioner due to the jojoba oil and murumuru butter which can be found in this product. Peppermint and methanol crystals as the main ingredients this does actually mean that your skin is left supple and pump as well which I have found is great as my skin was super tight after been burnt in the summer and also I want to be pump skin because I feel like it always looks better.
It’s unlike anything that I’ve tried from Lush before – a strong, crisp and very refreshing spearmint and peppermint aroma with a note of menthol that gives it a slightly clinical element as well this may not be a scent for everyone so I would recommend that you do smell this body conditioner before you purchase this item.
I am loving using this product again due to the fact that it helps my skin repair myself which is something I need with the harsh winter months. This produce leaves your skin moisitured but beware it does have a greasy feeling for a while after leaving the shower it may be for around 5-10 mintutes and you would not want to put clothes on during this time.
I will be purchasing more of this beauty before the this goes again for another year. It sure is one of Lush’s hidden gems.
Have you tried a body conditioner before if so what did you think?
You receive a beautiful white square wax burner which for me is so different I never have seen a square one which is something which is going to stand out in my collection of round burners. Something else which is different is the fact that this burner is two parts the top is where you place the little cubes of wax and the bottom is where you actually put the tea light which you are burning. I have never seen one which completely separates before. This company really are a lot of firsts for me
Today I thought I would share with you the planner which I have been using to keep myself organised during this term at university. I know many of you love stationary and most get a new diary around this time of year. I would be should I not have an academic one however when I was looking for one in the summer I couldn’t find one I liked. Then I discovered personal planner which allowed you to customise your own planner so I thought I would share mine with you. I have only shown blank pages so that you don’t find out any information which is personal.
I decided that I was going to use one of there already designed front covers due to the fact I liked the chalkboard effect and how it looked I also liked the quote which was on the front. The only change I made was to add my name to it so that people know who it belongs to should it go missing for some reason. I also chose the black string to go around my planner as I feel like this so something which goes with the theme which I was going for however you can have a range of strings and design your own cover if you want to.
Inside on the first page, you could have anything such as your contact details however I decided that I was going to go with some quotes because of the fact I wanted to remain motivated and remind me that I can do things even when the going is tough. This is something I knew would happen with a young daughter commuting and second-year university work. I had to keep myself organised as well otherwise everything would go to pot and I would end up failing and a very stressed mummy.
In the actual planner, I decided that I was going to go with a horizontal box design the reason for this is some days I have so much to write in and I need as much space as I can get. I actually write the readings I need to complete as well as assignments and events such as lectures which I have to attend even with all this space I have found some days I am still struggling for space. In these boxes, you can also add birthdays and how old the person is this can be done on the website and printed into your planner which is a good idea for people like me who don’t ever remember how old people I never remember if it is a big birthday or not and sometimes forget the date
The next thing after all of this week pages is the month overview calendar and this is so handy as I can write down when my assignment was due and then if people as me I can come out to an event or something I can look and base it around this. It also helps me write down events which are a long time ahead as sometimes I find out about things months in advance and if I don’t write them down I know I will forget them. I have the month overviews for the whole of 16 and 17 so I can write things down for after this planner will end. I have been known to write down when my library books are due back and things like this as well so I don’t end up paying late fees
The final section of this planner is where you get to choose the type of paper which you have at the end for me I choose to have the lined paper as I knew this was going to be something which I would be able to use to make lists. You can choose from a range of different types of paper for example squared, plain and even colouring pages. I have used this to make notes and also a to do list I find satisfactions of ticking things I need to do off my list.
I have a blogging planner as well which is on its way so if this is something you would be interested in seeing let me know and this is something which I can do for you. I am detemined that 2017 is the year of organisation for me at least
I thought today as part of blogmas I would share with you some of the traditions which we have a family some which I can see my little family adapting in the future when we get our own house. However, these are the traditions which I remember doing and some we still do.
A tradition which we still do is after Christmas so that we are not consuming turkey for the rest of the year we have a really nice turkey soups as you can image there is loads of it so we are eating it for a while.. My dad makes it and it seems to have so much in it from a large range of vegetables, pearl barley as well as turkey I am sure that there is more than that however, I can not recall this at the moment. Unfortunately due to me and Jess going away not long after Christmas we do not manage to have as much of this maybe we will have one day were we get to have some this year fingers crossed for me.
Opening our stockings on our parents bed on Christmas morning even at 21 years old I am not ashamed to stay that I have this tradition. We get to open the small presents which means that they are not forgotten about as your opening the big ones straight away. Me and my brother hang our stockings on our bedroom doors and the we grab them when we leave however. this year I am going to have to share my door with Jess as for the first time she has a little stocking. We will still be doing this and is a tradition which I can see continuing when we get our own house.
Leaving a treat out for Santa due having a brother who is 5 years younger than me this is one which I have done for a long time. With having Jess this is going to continue as a young child I remember always having a mug for Santa’s milk I found it again not so long ago leaving a carrot for Rudolph and a Mince Pie as long as we had some. I have seen the beautiful plates which you can get with your children’s names on however, this is not something I would really want to do till my family is complete who knows in the future there may be more than Jess.
We as kids were told that Santa saw us it meant that that he would take all of the presents back which has meant that we always lay in till between 8-9am which is late as I know some people who will be up at 4am. This is one which I am demanding that we teach Jess in the future because this Mamma likes her sleep. Even this year I don’t feel like we will have too much trouble sleeping I remember last year we actually had to wake Jess up and she was only 3 months old.
The final tradition which again kind of relates to Christmas day is that you must eat some food before you are allowed to open any of the presents which are downstairs. I have no clue why this is maybe it is as simple as so that we can have some food in our systems pretty early on in the day. Usually I will have something small like toast this year I know this is something which we will have to do as Jess loves her food and will not have a breakfast long after she has woken up. We also take it in turns to open presents I feel like this is so we know what each other got at as well as all gifts then feel special.
I would love to know what your Christmas traditions are leave me a comment and let me know
If you are anything like me you will love taking part in secret Santa’s this is a concept which has grown in the last few years people now do these at work and I have heard large friendship groups doing this even the blogger community have done this as well which includes posting the items. It can be really hard to know what to send due to the fact that some have very small budgets of between £10-15.
I have decided that I am going to share a list of items which would be good to be included I have only done these for women however, you could use these for males as well should you require. These include some items which I have received in the past and ones which I have sent.
- Make Up Bags- Primark do some amazing ones they are so useful as well
- Bath Bombs- They do not have to be from lush other brands such as bomb cosmetics do some beautiful ones
- Candles- Again these do not have to be yankee as you know some of my favourite ones are so cheap
- Fluffy Socks- if you are anything like me they are your best friend over the colder months
- Lipsticks- if you know that they are always wearing a colour why not by them a simular one
- Nail Varnish- if they are someone who likes to pain there nails again this would be perfect
- Face Masks – sheet masks have become such a huge thing this year so why not let you secret santa try some
- Stationary- this is something which people are becoming more and more passionate about and this is something which I am adoring at the moment keeping organise and making lists.
It has been about a month since I last posted about this challenge were I am trying to use 6 products up before Christmas now we are in the final month and I am becoming scared that I am not going to get everything finished. This is ok with me as I have made progress on them and can always roll them over into the next seasonal challenge I do.
Before we start as you might imagine I actually finished four of these products which I am so happy about however. I am unsure if I will actually finish the other items off if this makes sense.
The first product which I used up was the Body shop Love etc perfume which I can not repurchase due to the fact that it has been discontinued I think it was like 3 years ago which shows how long I have had this product. I have decided that I am going to use up another perfume which I have had for a while which is the Fergie Outspoken Intense perfume this is going to be my everyday perfume for now until it has been used up and it is nearly full.
The next is The Body Shop Lip Balm in Cranberry I have hardly used this product again this month I feel like I have used it a couple of times because it really is too sticky for me. I have put this next to my bed in order to see if it makes me use any more of it up. Hopefully it will because it is a product which I really want to use up very soon as I have had it so long but I don’t see myself using it all before Christmas so this may be in my next seasonal challenge.
John Freida bleach blonde shampoo is another one which I have used up this month. I only have to use this once a week it means I don’t get through a lot of this. I actually am going to miss this product and this started out as once which I didn’t like and wanted to completely use it up but now I like it that much that I may purchase it after I have used all the shampoos which I have in the house. I have now decided that I am going to try the Lush Big shampoo I will let you know how I get on with this
The Lush Salted Coconut scrub is the third item and this is one which I am glad out of my bathroom because I really am not a fan of the the scent this reminds me of playdough so this will not be repurchased and the fact I know I have a ton of other scrubs to use which was not helping me want to use it up. I have decided to use a Ted Baker scrub up next again this is not my favouite however I got in for Christmas a few years ago so I want use it before it goes bad if that is possible.
The next item I have is the Lush Mask of Magnanimity I think I have only used this product once in the whole of this month this may be due to not having time to take baths and this is when I use this product. I am not going to finish this time unless I use is a hell of lot this month. Because I love it would rather enjoy it rather than just use it up because of this challenge but I may actually make a dent in this because I am going to be off uni which means that I can treat my skin more as i will have only more time
The final item which I used up was the Lush let the good time roll cleanser which I feel like only lasted a couple of days after the last update, I have repurchased however, I decided to try the limited edition Buche de Noel which Joe helped me pick out and to be honest I am loving so that’s some boyfriend points for him.

Today I am going to share with you a number of products which I purchased when I went to Selfridges in Birmingham. I decided that I really needed to treat myself to some new makeup as some of mines are running out or I just fancied a change. Who knows these products may give you some inspiration on what to add to your Christmas list. I apologise that I have taken everything nearly out of the boxes this was so that I could carry it home as I had very limited space due to getting loads of items for Jess as well.
The first item which I purchased is a really boring one it a pump for sheer glow I purchased mine and they had no pumps available at the time so I kept saying I would order one online however it meant that the postage was more expensive than the actual item so I never got around to it. So will I was near a NARS counter I decided to pick it up so I don’t use as much sheer glow every time I use it. I think this was around £3.50 which annoys me because I feel like you pay enough for the foundation it should come with a pump.
For a while I have had my eye on the Creamy Radiant concealer however, I was unsure what shade I would be I could guess but I didn’t want to spend £18.50 to have got it wrong. This was the reason I actually went to NARS I got the shade 2 Vanilla after I asked the really nice sales assistant if she could colour match me and this is what we decided. In truth, this was the shade which I was going to order online anyway at least in the future if I like the product I can do this.
I also decided that I could do with a higher end foundation for when knew that I was going to have foundation on all day. This lead me to purchasing all day weightless foundation because I have read so many amazing reviews on it and I love sheer glow I though thought why not go ahead and try it. I had it on all day and loved it even though I cried a fair few times the foundation still looked amazing minus the tear lines. This is one which I am going to be testing when I know I have things which are going to require me to look nice all day for example when I go working in the summer I feel like this is going to be a good time to use this foundation not that I will not use it before then. I am the shade Deauville for anyone who is interested and I feel like this foundation is £32.50.
Primer is a stage which I seem to neglect and now due to the cold snap my skin as has become super dry so this is a stage which I really need to add back in. The reason behind this is because of the fact that it gives an even smooth base to apply foundation so it looks a lot better. I actually also had this applied when I got my base done and this is what made me bite the bullet and purchase it. I love the way it made my foundation feel so smooth and more hydrated. I can not remember how much this was however in my opinion at the moment it is worth every penny which I paid it is something which I will be getting plenty of wear out of all year long as well due it having SPF 30.
Due to the fact I was feeling super spendy that day, I even purchase the power which is a massive thing for me because usually, I use a drugstore one like the Rimmel Stay Matte but I decided that I was going to have a matching powder because in theory in my head it should make everything say a little bit longer. I am unsure if it actually does or this is something which I just have in my head at the moment. I have this in the shade, Eden, I am interested to see how long this powder actually lasts me.
While waiting for the sales assistant to be free I noticed the satin lip pencils at this time of year I am a sucker for darker plummy kind of lips. For some reason they just scream Christmas/ Winter to me and I swatched the shade Palais Royal and that was it I knew I had to have it. This may be my Christmas shade the one which I don’t stop wearing for months who knows but is so easy to wear and I am loving it.
I would think a lot of this is going to be used over the festive period but you will have to see in a post coming closer to Christmas if I am correct.
What have you purchased from NARS recently leave me recommendations of what else I might need to try from the brand?
Today I am sharing with you something which is very important and close to my heart. Christmas is the time of year when people give presents but why not do something amazing this Christmas and give blood.
Over 6,000 blood transfusions are carried out daily in the UK, each year 200,000 new donors are needed. Only 3% of people actually donate but we would all expect a blood transfusion if we required one. I wish I could say that I was one of those donors, however, due to the fact that when I had Jess I had to have a blood transfusion myself it has meant that I can no longer give blood.
Instead of going to donate this Christmas I am trying to raise awareness the first way is by writing this post I hope I make some of you think about donating. I have already made my mum donate some blood since having my transfusions because she knows how close she came to losing her daughter. I was fortunate to have two lovely people who donated blood as I have had two transfusions and if it was not for them Jess may be here celebrating her second Christmas without her Mummy. You can donate every 6 months as well so it is not something which is just a one off.
I have been informed that it hardly takes any time at all and you get a free cup of tea/coffee and biscuits after donating, it does not make you feel unwell and it is so simple to do. You could have an amazing Christmas knowing you may have saved someone life now you even get a text saying when your blood was used and also where. I know the last time my mum donated her blood was used all the way in Stoke so it could be anyone around the country you save
If you would like any more information about giving blood, booking appointments or any questions you may have please visit www.blood.co.uk
If you give just one present this year why not give blood after all it is free
