Bookworm #6 – I Heart Hollywood

Hi Guys

This week I have been reading a lot because I want to get through some of the books which I own which means that I can purchase even more from the charity shops and help them which is something I like to do. So this is the first book which I decided that I would read

The BlurbCelebs, sunshine and beautiful boys…enough to lead a girl astray? Angela Clark can’t believe her luck! she’s an English girl living in New York with a dream job at hip magazine The Look and a sexy boyfriend. Her latest assignment takes her to Hollywood to interview hot actor and fellow Brit James Jacobs.Thrown in at the deep end she heads west with best friend Jenny dreaming of Rodeo Drive and Malibu beach. Soon Angela discovers that celebrity life in Hollywood is not all glamour, gloss and sunshine. Despite his lady-killer reputation, the only person who seems genuine is James. Then a paparazzi snaps them in an uncompromising position and suddenly Angela is thrust into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons! Can she convince all those close to her — especially her boss and her boyfriend — not to believe everything they read? And will Hollywood ever win Angela’s heart?

The ReviewI thought I loved I Heart New York, but I’m pretty sure I loved this sequel even more! I Heart Hollywood was fast paced, equally, if not more hilarious and I couldn’t put this fabulous chick lit down.

This book takes place in just over a week and it speeds along, including a twist which even  I wasn’t expecting. It was laugh out loud funny and I couldn’t help but giggle frequently at Angela’s antics. She’s disheveled, a bit ditzy, and fully flawed, but completely lovable. And it’s not just her character I loved, but all of them even the new ones who we meet in this book. The characters are so fully formed and distinct that I felt as if I knew each one, even though the novel is written from Angela’s perspective, and I couldn’t wait to see what they would do next.

I Heart Hollywood is the second installation in this fabulous, must read summer series for chick lit lovers. I am already a hell of the way through the next book which is I heart Paris and seem to be loving that as well but that will  be my next book. This book could stand alone without have to read the first novel, but why deny yourself the pleasure! Pick up both these books today!

Have you read this book what did you think?

Music This Month #2

Hi Guys

I know it has been a bit longer than a month since I did one of these post last but this is because my youtube has not been working so this means that I couldn’t put links to the songs so this is the reason behind the late post.

Avicii – Wake Me Up I love this so it really makes me happy the reason behind this is because it was always the song which seemed to be playing when my boyfriend picked me up so it became special and another reason is because I find it a good summer song which means it is perfect to drive to or in my case be driven listening to me.

The Wanted – Walks Like Rhianna This song gets stuck in my head so it means that I have to play it constant I usually don’t listen to The Wanted but this is a song which I really seem to be liking maybe I need to listen to more of them and then form an opinion on them

Daft Punk-Get Lucky I love this song its so amazing I think it is because it reminds me of my 18th birthday weekend also prom and then the semi final which I attended yesterday so they all have happy memories in which has been not an amazing year for me so this is the reason that I think I have been playing this song

What songs have you been playing?

OPI James Bond Collection Swatches

Hi Guys

If you have been reading my blog for a while you may remember a while back I said that I had purchased a lot of OPI mini collections and that I would share swatches with you and what I though of them almost like a first impression well I have shown you two previous and today it is the turn of the James Bond collection.

I purchased this because actually the fact that the collection was very cheap at the time of purchase and it meant that I couldn’t let it end without me purchasing it.I love the mini’s because of the fact with OPI you can’t see them in shops it means you don’t know what the colour is like in real life so this means it may not be what you thought and you have wasted money on a whole bottle.

Anyway these are the 4 polishes which you get in the set as you can see them swatched above.

The first colour which you can see on the left is GoldenEye which OPI say All eyes will be upon you when you wear this glorious gold. This colour is a shade which I think I will wear more in the winter around christmas time the reason behind this is the it is a yellow-gold colour and it reminds me of the sparkle which you find at that time of year. I don’t think I own a colour like this but it is one which I can’t see myself purchasing the full size of.

The colour next to this is The World Is Not Enough which OPI say This rosy silver is a addictive as it is beautiful. Ths colour is a beautiful shade which is silver that has a lot of grey and pink specks of glitter in them again this is a colour which I think that I am going to get more wear out of in the winter months rather than the summer. I may purchase the full size bottle of this if I use the shade enough because it is like nothing other I own.

The red colour which you can see if The Spy Who Loved Me which OPI says A red as romantic as the secret agent inside you. This red can only be described as a pillar box red shade which is so classic and can be worn at any time of the year it does have glitter in it so this makes me want to wear this polish closer to christmas than the current time of year so this could be something that I will not repurchase the full size because of the glitter will remind me more of christmas than the summer so I will be more likely to use it then than now.

The final polish which you can see is Live And Let Die OPI describe this colour as Burn the candles at both ends in this private jet black. I would not call this a black it looks more like a dark green colour so this could mean that I will repurchase in full size because of the fact that you could wear this in the summer because it would not be as harsh as the black would be but who knows if I will repurchase the colour.

Do you own this collection or the full size let me know?

Review:L’Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution

Hi Guys

I decided that I would review a product which I decided to purchase because of the fact that I wanted to try Bioderma but I know how hard it still is to get it where I live so I decided that I would purchase a dupe which I could get my hands on in boots or superdrug. This is the first micellar solution that I have tried and this is what I think of it.

It feels like you are putting water on your face instead of an actually cleanser so this makes me feel like it is not going to clog my pores because it is thin instead of been really thick. I love the way this product can take off all my make up and it even takes of the waterproof mascaras that I use off which my eye makeup remover can struggle with so this is a massive advantage. It also means that I can now get my make up removed in a record time before it could take up to around 5 minutes to remove it with the eye remover I was using but this has the job done in around a minute or two which means that I can get to bed quicker which is always something that I am looking to do. All I do is put some on a cotton wool pad and then sweep it around my face and to remove my eye make up all I do its hold it near my eyes for a few seconds and it all come off onto the pad.

I don’t really suffer with sensitive skin but I have heard from my friends who have that this product doesn’t seem to cause them any problem so this must mean that the product is one which can be used on all skin types so this means should you be going on a girls holiday one of you can just take this and it will mean that you can all remove your make up without you having to take one each meaning more weight.

Have you tried this what did you think to it?

Review: MUA Undress Your Skin Illuminating Foundation

Hey Guys

As you might remember from my superdrug haul I purchased this foundation I have now been using it for a few weeks now and have decided that I will tell you what I think about this item.

I must admit I hate the packaging for this because it looks so cheap I know this is a cheap brand but the fact that it is a squeezy tube you cant get the correct amount out like you can when it is a pump as different amounts come out so that is the first problem with this foundation.I usually end up with way too much product coming out and then having to waste some no wonder this foundation seems to be going down quickly. The other problem for me is that it is not matte but this is solved because I just then use my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I don’t believe really that this foundation is very illuminating but it is not something which has really been bothering me it may with some other people so if it does don’t bother purchasing this foundation.

I have the shade beige which is perfect for my skin when I need a bit of coverage more than I would get with a BB cream I think that this could be used in the winter months when you really need coverage because if you don’t you look pale your skin is not at it’s best. It seems to last all day on me without the need of a primer if I use powder so this means you would be able to wear this at an occasion without having to spend a lot of money. I used this for prom and clubbing after and it was still on when I got home around 9 hours later and buckets of sweat later. It is a cheap foundation been priced at £5 and it can be purchased here.

If you have tried this product what did you think of it let me know?

Bookworm #5 – By The Time You Read This

Hi Guys
During this hot weather I have been making the most of it and sitting outside and reading books because this is something which I get so much pleasure out of so this review I am going to share a book which I have just finished and now am sending to New Zealand so someone else can get the pleasure of it.
The Blurb:
This is a manual for my daughter Lois. Here are the rules:
1. You must only read each new entry on your birthday, there is one for every year until you are thirty.
2. This is a private manual between you and me.
3. No peeping at the next entry unless it’s your birthday!

When Lois Bates is handed the manual, she can barely bring herself to read it as the pain of losing her dad is still so raw. Yet soon his advice is guiding her through every stange of her life – from first love and relationships to her career. The manual can never be a substitute for having her dad back, but through his words Lois learns to start living again, and discovers that happiness is waiting around the corner

My Review:

I had finished the book that I had been reading before this one which I have chosen not to review due to been rugby  anyway I quickly grabbed this book and started reading what I for sure thought would be a tear-jerker but the truth is NOTHING happened Iended up getting so bored of this book it took me about a month to read it and I only did that because I don’t like leaving books unfinished. The major problem for me is that the author writes like a teenager and at times I find myself having to reread what a sentence was just to understand what is happening. I think maybe this book was geared toward 14 year olds maybe under and this is why I didn’t agree or like the book at all

Have you read this book what did you think of it?

Swap with Project Rattlebag

Hey Guys

I apologies this post should have been up a couple of months ago but I thought it had published off my phone and just noticed that it actually hadn’t so I have decided that I will put this post up now.

Back in April I was supposed to receive my swap of Hettie but we had all kinds of trouble with the royal mail and this meant that she had to send me another package which I told her she didn’t have to do as she had already forked out the money. Around a week or two after she posted the second time I received a love envelope with loads of goodies in which was the swap. As you can see from the photo above I received a lot of products and here are what they are.

One of the first things I noticed was the W7 eyeshadow brush 01 I have never used a brush which has been  from W7 so this means that I can test and see if I will purchase more in the future. Unfortunately I have not tried this brush out yet as I am currently testing out a new set of brushes which I purchased but this brush looks like it is going to be very good for blending out eyeshadows.

Another product which I recieved in this swap from W7 was a lipstick from the pinks range its called Raspberry Ripple. This Lipstick is a matte finish it is a bright pink which is so wearable ever single day which means that I am going to get some wear out of this product. I think it does have a slight smell to it maybe it does actually smell of Raspberry Ripple who knows. This may become one of my go to lipsticks this summer.

I also received 2 Rimmel nail varnishes the first one is one of their 60 seconds range and the colour which I received is Instyle Coral which is one of the most beautiful coral colours that I have ever owned. I actually used this one one of my friends for prom and it looked nice with a tan so this is a colour which I think that I could be using a lot over these summer months. I have previously tried some colours from this range but for some reason never the one which I received.

The other Rimmel nail varnish i got  was the crack your colour top coat in silver clash which is a crackle top coat. I still have a few of these types of top coat from when they where all on tried a couple of years ago. So I have not used this on my nails yet but what I can see it looks a good top coat I may use this on my toes this summer as I am not really a big crackle fan anymore

I also recieved 3 lip products from Rimmel first I will talk about one of their lipsticks from the moisture renew range in the shade Sweetheart Tulips 215. Now I will admit that I do own this colour already now I believe that this does have SPF20 in the product I could be wrong but this is the most beautiful pink which is pretty subtle but also have a bit of shimmer in as well I think that this could be worn at any occasion so I will wear this just like I do my other one.

The next Rimmel Lipstick which I received was  Birthday Suit which is a brown colour which almost like toffee brown instead of nude which I thought it would be when I open the package and saw this lipstick  I have swatched this I am not a massive fan it feels like wax so I think this will go into my make up boxes which are back up until I fancy using it or end up selling it on.

The finally Rimmel Product I recieved was the Royal Gloss in Candy’licious this lipgloss tastes amazing it is so sweet you almost want to lick it off. It comes out of the tube really bright but when it goes onto your lips it looks really sheer so this means that it could amazing over a lipstick in the summer. This is how I think that I am going to wear it so don’t be surprised if you see this on the blog in the future.

The final lipgloss which I recieve is Fruity Strawberry I must admit that I thought that it may smell off strawberry but it doesn’t so this is not something which I was too impressed with it has a lot of shimmer in it as well so I think that this may be used when I am having a make up free day because I am not a massive fan of this but it will get used over time.

I received another nail varnish which I couldn’t be more pleased with it is Sally Hansen Hot Magenta and it is  a beautiful hot pink. This shade is going to get so much wear this summer I think I will be using it on both my toes and my hands this just reminds me of the sun and it is a colour which I would have purchased myself so I am so glad that I have this colour because I know Sally Hansen are a very good brand of nail polish and they last for a while without chipping

For my nails I also receive the Essence pocket beauty sos nail files which are so small which means that you can take them and when you are on the the go and then you can file them and not have to wait till you get home and do them so this is going to be something which I will use so much because I am always splitting nails when travelling and forget a nail file.

I also recieved some La La Lashes in La La Desire I was going to use these eye lashes from prom but then ended up having really bad eyes so I thought that it was best that I didn’t use any so I am going to use these one day probably when I go out or attend a party but I can’t wait to use these as they have gold glitter within the short and long lashes.

I also recieved the Rimmel Glam’eyes liquid liner in Intense Plum 003 due to the colour which I have this in I am going to use it for a cat eye look during a night out where I am not wearing loads of make up because of the fact that I find it less intense than a black which means that you don’t stand out too much and look over done when your not aiming to you seem to be able to get the perfect amount of product out with one application so this is a product which I could get a lot of use out of in the coming months because it is easy to use

NYC’s Eye shadow 920 A-Lister is another item which I received now I have used this in inner corner of my eye and have been told that it is a dupe for MAC Vanilla this is something which I was going to purchase before the swap now this is not going to be anywhere as good as the MAC on but it does what I want so thank you for saving me some money.

L’Oréal’s Color Infaillible in endless chocolat is pretty brown which could be easy used for a smokey eye which is something I think that this is a colour which I will use more for a night out and also more in the winter months  but this seems to have so much pigment so this makes me think I will use it.

This is the final make up item I recieved  Dainty Doll : Mascara & Eyeliner Duo : 001 Good Gosh Miss Molly this is a double ended mascara and also the black eyeliner. This would be amazing for travelling with because it is so light which is what I like. The eyeliner is so thin which means that you get it where you want and this is an intense black which can be used for day or night. The mascara doesn’t extend your lashes it makes them look so flat so this is not something I will use a lot.

Thank you for this swap
If anyone is interested in doing a swap with me let me know

Superdrug haul

Hey Guys
The other day I popped into town to meet someone and found myself with a bit of time before so I popped into superdrug with the intention of just looking well that is never enough for me so I ended up spending some of my money and this is what I purchased.
As you can see I purchased the I love mango & papaya shower gel. I got this because of the fact I knew that I love the smell of this and come on shower gel always comes in handy. The brand do some amazing scents which really wake you up when having a morning shower they are very cheap as well only £2.05 random price right. I think that this could be classed as a unisex shower gel so any one could use it I know that I can’t wait to get my paws on to it even though I have loads of little ones to use first.
Next I purchased the MUA Undress your skin foundation I picked mine up in Beige. I purchased this because I have heard so many people on about this foundation I had to try it for myself. I have been using this for around a week now and I must admit I don’t really love it all too much. I will be reviewing this in the coming weeks so look out for that. This is only £5 so worth a look because there is a few shade so you may find one perfect for you.
Another item which I picked up has been raved about bloggers so I had to try is the L’Oreal 3 in 1 purifying miceller soloution . I must mention first this is on offer at Superdrug for £3.32 at the moment so you could save yourself some pennies. I love this product so much I used to have such as bad habit of removing make up with baby wipes but now since I got this I have been using it and can already feel the benefits which it is having to my skin which is always a bonus. You need to smallest amount as well which means that a bottle will go a long way. I will have a review on this in the near future.
As you can see I went a bit mad with I love lip balms. I purchased all three types they had in stock and will be purchasing the I love coconut and cream when they get it back in stock. Now these lip balms are only 99p and you get a fair bit in them 15ml to be exact these are a very sheer colour this is why I have no swatches as you couldn’t really see. These are not for people who want loads of colour but they are so moisturising and very scented you almost want to lick them off. They are perfect for in your handbag so that why I got three so I can have one at home one in my bag and one as a spare for when I lose one which I guess I will.
Now finally I picked up the Rimmel Scandaleyes in Bad Girl Bronze and also Bulletproof Beige. I must admit yes I have had them a week and still not used them. I needed to post this before I did in my eyes but how ever I have still managed to do a swatch of them both. the top one is the beige which I think would look perfect in the crease as it is not too bright and the one on the bottom is the bronze which I think would look nice when I am creating a smokey eye.

Have you tried any of these products what did you think?

Lush Haul

Hi Guys

I know the picture on this is not the best but this is because of the fact that the items are very small. For another surprise I have never shopped in Lush yes I know every beauty blogger has but I must be one of the only ones who hasn’t.

This is what I picked up when shopping in there the first thing whats a lip tint which is called It Started With A Kiss. Lush say about this product didn’t every girl want to be a Snow White with those kissable red lips- well we all have the chance with this apple and cinnamon lip balm tint. I really can’t smell the cinnamon in this product all I taste is the apple which is not something that I am loving if honest but hopefully it  will make my lips beautiful when I am not looking for a lipstick it doesn’t look very red either and doesn’t seem to be making my lips very soft. You can purchase this in stores or online here for £5.50.

As you can see I purchased the Red and Blue FUN. I have not used these products yet but love the idea that they are multipurpose because of the fact that you can use them as play dough you can use them as shower gel and even shampoo even though I don’t think that I will be using them as shampoo I love Aussie too much.

The blue fun is described as a mix of lavender,Moroccan chamomiles and chamomile blue essential oils which will be perfect for bedtime baths so I have decided that one day when I have a bath late on in the day I will use this product because it may help me sleep better than I currently do. You can purchase the blue fun here on in store for £5.

The red fun is described as mandarin and orange essential oils will make you think of sunny orange groves whatever they are and freshly squeezed orange juice which will brings summer to your bath well anything which brings a bit of summer into my life at the moment is so well received because of the fact that I live in England and don’t see much sun in my life. You can purchase the FUN in store or online here for £5.

I have realised that recently that my lips have not been than soft so I purchased the Mint Julps Lip Scrub and wow this tastes amazing it has peppermint, vanilla and tagetes oil in it and I have been using this product for a couple of days now and can already see the difference so if you are looking for a lip scrubs which works you can get your hands on this one for £5.25 either in store or online here.

What products do you think I should purchase from Lush?

What’s on my nails #6

Hi Guys
Apologises for the gap in posts but have just needed some time off from blogging to see if something else I am working on will grow.
This post has a twist instead of showing you what is on my nails I decided to do what’s on my mums because I prefer the design which I did on her more than mine so hope you forgive me for showing hers.
I have used Essie Sensitivity Base Coat which I find is the best base coat I have used to date. Feelunique see this and it can be purchased for £8.55 here. I think I paid around £3 for mine at The Original Factory Store so it may be worth checking in there. I know I say the same ever time but you really do need to own this. I have found mine again as you may know I lost my version of this.

For the Green I used MUA Pistachio Ice Cream I know that this is a dupe for Essie  Candy Apple and I will be comparing the two soon. I applied two coats of this and found this to be enough coverage for what my mum what she wanted. I would recommend you guys to purchase this lovely polish as it is only £1 available here. I know currently superdrug don’t have any of this shade available but keep checking back because it will come back in stock.

To create the silver dots I used Revlon nail art French mix in Chance encounter and the silver one of the duo. I found the dots easy to apply just using the brush that it comes with. I was going to use the Barry M nail art pens but can’t seem to get on with them. I picked these up on TK Maxx with another three for around £5.99. I have found them online for you guys over on Amazon again at £1.76 plus £1.99 p+p and they can be found here. I look forward to using these a lot more in the future and seeing what looks I can create with them

Finally to seal my nail varnish I used Sally Hanson Hard As Nails which is the best top coat that I have used that is clear. I did pick this bottle that I am using up in The Original Factory Store for £3. You can purchase this from Boots here.

What colours do you use when doing dots?
