Today I am going to be sharing with you our weekly meal plan. Meal planning is one of the ways which we manage to keep the cost of our weekly food shop down. If it is not on the list we really end up purchasing it anymore. We have started baby led weaning this week because Troy is now 6 months old.I really do not know where the time has gone it seems not long ago since we brought him home. Before we know it next it will be his birthday anyway before I need to cry about how fast my baby is growing up. On to the meals which we have been consuming this week.
Saturday- Chip Shop Fish Pie, this is a meal which I found on the Tesco website. It sounded like a meal which was going to be completely different to a normal fish pie. This is because it actually has normal chips in it. If I had not seen this on Pinterest. I do not think that I would have made it but for sure it is something which I would make again in the future.
Sunday- Chip Shop Fish Pie, there was actually enough to have this again for tea on Sunday. It was nice to have left overs.. It did mean that I did not have to do any cooking which is a bonus because sometimes you want a day off. There was clean bowls both times we made this meal as well.
Monday- Chicken Burrito Bowls, this is a meal which we have made in the past and I would recommend in the future as well. It is the filing of a burrito however, without the wraps. This is one which we have had with Jess and she really enjoyed it as well. For sure this is a meal which I am looking forward to because Mexican food is something which we love.
Tuesday- Summer Zucchili Bolognese, we have some courgettes to use up. Of course, I wanted to do a recipe which used them up and I came across this one on Pinterest. It has ingredient which we have in the cupboard of course, this will keep the price of the shop down again. This is one which was nice and for sure something which we will add too the meal plan in the future.
Wednesday- Groovy Green + Beef Noodles, this is a meal which is in one of the Ella’s Kitchen books. I am going to do this for the whole family. Its basically a stir fry however, this does mean that Troy can try it and have some of the elements of food. I know he is not going to eat a lot but at least he has some food to try. I am looking forward to seeing how he gets on because he is always looking for food when we eat now.
Thursday- Broccoli, Basil and cashew pesto spaghetti, this is in Joe Wick’s wean in 15 cook book. I thought again this would be a meal which the whole family can have. Spaghetti is something which we all like anyway. Making my own pesto is not something which I have done before so I am looking forward to seeing this comes out. I think while we are weaning Troy it is going to see me making some different ingredience and meals.
Friday- Indian-spinach Chickpea And Potato Curry, the final meal this week is also in the wean in 15 cook book. A curry is something which we have often anyway so we have just made this one Troy friendly. I do not think we have had a veggie curry for a long time so I am actually looking forward to making this and seeing what people think of it.
