Today I am going to be sharing our weekly meal plan. I have decided to share it even though it is over the festive period this could change a lot I know. Of course, I do not expect to stick to this completely however, it does mean that we have some meals ready for tea. I can not believe that this is the final meal plan of the year I have meal planned for most of the year even if I have not shared them with you. Anyway on to the meals which I have been consuming this week.
Monday- Peri Peri Chicken and Rice, this is a sauce which we have in the cupboard so I though to make this weeks food shop cheaper we would use it.. We also have some chicken in the freezer which I thought we would be able to use as well. This is going to be a simple meal which we can throw in an almost forget about great for this time of year.
Tuesday– We are going to present exchange with my side of the family. I am unsure what we are going to do about food if they do not feed we might end up with a takeaway. It is Christmas eve after all but I am sure we would be able to get something sorted. Christmas Eve also sees me turn 38 weeks pregnant so I can not be dealing with too much stress.
Wednesday- Christmas Dinner, we tend to do 3 courses for Christmas Dinner which means that it will be spread out over the course of the day. We are planning on having a prawn cocktail to start, followed by the Christmas Dinner and then we have cheesecake for desert. Joe is not a huge fan of Christmas pudding which is one of the reasons we are not adding it to the menu this year.
Thursday- Gammon, Chips and Egg. I have purchased a joint of Gammon which we are going to cook in the slow cooker. Gammon is something which always reminds me of Christmas for some reason maybe it is a tradition which we have had before. This does mean we can have a lot of Branston Pickle as well which is something I love. Even though only seem to purchase near the festive period.
Friday- Cherry Coke Pulled Pork, this is a recipe which is in the new pinch of nom book. This is something which we have said that we all fancy trying to we have added it. To be honest Pulled Pork is something which we love anyway I am sure there are going to be left overs which we can have for lunches in the next coming days.
Saturday- Pizza, we have purchased some pizza bases and we also had a kit to make your own. Since it is the period between Christmas and New Year where you do not know what to do with yourself. So I think this will be a great time. I have purchased some chorizo, peppers and onions to be able top the pizzas. I think we also have some pineapple as well which we could use up.
Sunday- Thai Curry, this is a meal which we love so much and we have so much Thai Curry Paste I think we have 3 jars. We are trying to use some of the things in the cupboard up so that we can have some more space for the new year which is always a bonus.
