Our Weekly Meal Plan 16th August 2019

Today I am back sharing with you another weekly meal plan. The weeks seem to be flying by and it sees like I am constantly writing these are the moment. Again this week we have gone with an easy sort of week when it comes to meals. The reason behind this is we are trying to get the nursery done for the new arrival. If you do not know what I am on about check out the post here.  So on to the meals which we have been consuming this week.

Monday- Creamy Bacon and Sausage Carbonara. This is a meal which we have not had in a long time I think it was February. I actually fancied this for a change which is rare as nausea has put me off a lot of food recently. The weather this week is also mean to be a little bit cooler. I am thinking this is going to be served with a garlic bread.

Tuesday- Pizza, we actually purchased a pizza from Asda to have to tonight. We going to be busy all day today with bits for the baby and a car seat fitting. So we wanted to get something which was going to be quick and take not a lot of effort. I love the pizza from Asda pizza bar.

Wednesday-  Chicken Katsu Curry, this is another of my favourites. We have one more of the kits to use up and it is taking up space in the cupboard. I have decided that we are going to make it so we can get rid of it. It also saves me money by not going to waggamamas when we are out on Tuesday. For sure this is a meal which I am looking forward to.

Thursday- Cod with Parsley sauce, new potatoes and mixed veg. This is a meal which I used to have sometimes when I still lived at home. It is something which I have not had in the longest time. I want to make sue that I am still eating fish in my diet and thought this would be a good way to get some veg in as well.

Friday- Diet Cola Chicken And Rice, this is a meal which I got out of the pinch of nom book. It is actually like a fakeaway it sounds like something which you may get from the Chinese I am thinking like stickey chicken. We are thinking about taking Jess to Manchester on Friday so it is likely this is going to be a meal which she joins us for as well.

Saturday- Gammon, Egg and Chips. This is not something we would normally have on a Saturday however, Jess will have been fed at a party. I am also at work which means that Joe will want an easy meal to have to prepare. This is also one of his favourites. This is something so simple yet very effective.

Sunday-  Spaghetti Bolognise, this is a classic in this house. We know that there will be clean plates all around when this is served. I feel like it is something which we have not had in a while however, this could just be me. Of course, this is a meal which Joe is going to cook. It is one of his signature dishes. This may end up been served with garlic bread as well.

Our Weekly Meal Plan 9th August

Today I am going to be sharing with you another weekly meal plan. This week we seem to have a lot on we are making a few changes to the house this week. Of course this is because it is the first week of Joe’s holidays and there are so many bits which we hope to achieve. This has meant we have opted for some simple meals which do not take too much effort to cook. I know energy levels may be low by the time we get to tea time. So here are the meals which we have been consuming this week.

Monday- Chicken Nacho Kievs with Jacket Potatoes. We actually picked up the chicken kievs a few weeks ago when they were reduced and froze them. I thought that this week would be a good time to use them up. I am going to serve this with jacket potatoes as they are something which I have been loving recently.

Tuesday- Chill Pasta Bake, this is a meal from a pinch of nom. I do not think this is one which I have made yet. However, I fancied something different this week for sure, I know I will enjoy this meal. Mince is not something which I have had in a long time.

Wednesday- Salmon Herby Potatoes and Mixed Veg. Again this is a meal which we got reduced what can I say we love yellow stickers. Salmon is a meal which I adore anyway so this is going to be perfect. This is such a simple meal however it is one which is super simple which is great.

Thursday- Chicken and Leek Pie. This is something which I have made in the past and we loved. I am sure that by the end of this we are going to want such a hearty meal. I am unsure if we are actually going to be serving this with anything. In the past we have made it and then had enough for 4 people instead of having something to go with it. If I have not already shared the recipe I will.

Friday- Burger in a Bowl, this is something we never had. I can not remember the reason why we did not make. This is something which I have seen a range of people do recently, I think it is a slimming world meal. It is almost a big mac which I love however, we hate spending the price of them as recently they have become super expensive. Hopefully, this is a meal which we end up loving and we can make a few more times.

Saturday- Beef Burritos, this is another meal which we have not had in the longest time. Mexican food is one of my favourites. I am unsure if Jess has actually had any burritos in the past. I am sure this is going to go down well in this house I am going to be making these from scratch. I fond a recipe in an Asda magazine not very long ago.

Sunday- BBQ Pork Steaks, corn on the cob, mixed veg and jacket potatoes. This is a meal which we are going to basically use the freezer for. We purchased the pork steaks a long time ago and I want them used up. I am going to put a lot of veg with this meal because it is something which Jess will eat. To be honest I can not wait for this meal either.

Meal Plan 2nd August

First of all, how it is August this year seems to be flying by. For sure I know it is not going to slow down there are some exciting things coming up. Today I am going to be sharing with you the meals which I have been consuming this week. This is the last week of solo parenting which I am so glad about because it means that Joe can help me cook again. Again, of course, there are a few meals from the freezer. I find it easier and batch cooking, of course, saves money which is something which we all love. So today I am going to share the meals which I have been consuming.

Monday – Herby Chicken Wrapped In Bacon with Jacket. This is a meal which I have made a few times now it is super simple however it is something which you can just stick in the oven. I am going to do a jacket potato with this and maybe some mixed veg. This is a recipe which got from Katy on one of her lives.

Tuesday- Lasagna and salad, this is one of the meals which I have in the freezer. I am going to be sharing the recipes for this medal in the coming weeks. I think it is one of the easiest ways to get veg into my diet. Again this means that I am not going to have to cook and with the lack of energy I have this is great. This will be served with garlic bread or salad depending on my mood.

Wednesday- Risotto, this is one which I have not had in a long time. This is another meal which I have had in the freezer and want to get it used up. It is that bad because I can not remember what flavour this. For sure is a meal which I am looking forward to this week. I do not know if this is a meal which I would make again.

Thursday-  Creamy Ham pasta bake, this is a meal which we had a few weeks ago. For sure there was plenty left which meant some went in the freezer. I am going to have some more of this week. It does mean that there is going to be more space for more meals or bargains.  I reckon this

Friday-  Takeaway, because Joe is back and I do not know what time he is going to be back. To be honest, it is going to be nice to have him back because I have missed him. I am thinking about having a Chinese for this meal. For sure

Saturday- Chicken Curry, we have a number of jars in the cupboard. I am unsure what we are actually going to be doing this weekend. I could easily stick this in the slow cooker or cook it when home. I have not had a curry in a long time so this could be fun.

Sunday- Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Jess has a 3-hour birthday party so I do not think she is going to want to eat. I fancy doing something in the slow cooker which is how we got to this meal.  Theses may be served as part of a meal or on their own, I have not decided yet.

Meal Plan 26th July

Today I am going to be sharing with you the meals which I have been consuming this week. I have actually been on my own week which that’s some of the meal may be repeated. I have taken a couple of meals out of the freezer which is something which I do when Joe is away. I am still not able to cook a lot at the moment and the heat is not making this any easier for me. Anyway, I am going to be sharing the meals which I have been consuming.

Monday- Tomato and sweet onion pasta, this is a meal which should be super simple to make. This is a Tesco recipe which I am sure I will it another time if this is a meal which I like this. There is a chance I will make too much and end up freezing some.

Tuesday- Garlic bread flatbread and salad. Normally I would have had something like a pizza however with the heat this is not something which I want. Of course, the flatbread is thin for sure this is a meal which is going to be good.

Wednesday-  Chicken wraps, these are something which I have been loving for a few weeks now. I am going to use breaded chicken because then they are like a fake McDonald’s wrap. This is something which I do love however, I do not love the price. I am also going to stick some salad in this to make it a bit healthier.

Thursday- Jacket potato and salad. We have a lot of potatoes which need using up and a jacket potato sounds nice I have also some sandwich fill in which I can use as a filling. I am going to serve this with salad again because it meant to be able 30 degrees. Of course, this means that I am not going to want to cook at all.

Friday- I am at work and Jess will be at my parents so we are going to have more for lunch. I am unsure what my parents are going to have in. So I am unsure what we will be consuming for this meal. It might be nice to have a meal cooked for me again.

Saturday-  Again I am at work and staying with my parents. I am unsure of what we are going to for tea. I know we have spoken about having like a buffet if the weather is still warm however it might have changed. For sure it is going to be a good meal

Sunday- Chicken nuggets and chips. I am unsure what time well we be getting home so I want a super simple meal to cook. There is a chance that we will end up getting food with them rather than me having to cook.

Meal Plan 19th July

Today I am going to be sharing with you the meals we have been consuming this week. I am still not feeling amazing which has meant Joe has had to do a lot of the cooking. This is why there is some super simple meals because I do not want to put too much pressure on him. There is some almost takeaway meals as this is something I have been fancying. However, we do not want to spend the money of takeaways.

Monday-  Sausage Casserole, this something which we have had in the cupboard for a while now. It is something which I want to get used up. I thought this would be the perfect time to do this. This is going to be served with Mash. Something not typically summery.

Tuesday- Pasta, I am unsure what we are actually going to do with the pasta. For sure it will be actually cool because the weather is meant to be super hot. I am thinking that I am going to send up doing something like tuna and sweetcorn. We have both of these in the cupboard as well.

Wednesday-  Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas, this is something which I have been fancying for a couple of weeks now.  We decided to have it at home instead of actually having a takeaway its a bit more healthy and saves pennies. I found some fish on offer when I did the weekly Asda shop making it an even cheaper meal.

Thursday-  Egg Fried Rice and Chinese Chicken Curry. I have been craving a Chinese for a long time now however, we still have not found an amazing one in our neighbourhood. We have purchased a packet of egg fried rice, I know I could make this meal easy myself. For ease, as I have said I have not been feeling great we got a takeout Chinese Chicken curry from Asda. This for sure is something which I am looking forward to.

Friday- Burger In A Bowl. This is something which I have seen a range of people do recently, I think it is a slimming world meal. It is almost a big mac which I love however, we hate spending the price of them as recently they have become super expensive. Hopefully, this is a meal which we end up loving and we can make a few more times.

SaturdayTakeaway. We have decided to throw the boat out and have a takeaway, I am working all day. Joe is actually off on Sunday on a course for two weeks. I thought this would a nice treat for us because we rarely have them now. Hopefully, I will be able to eat some of it because I have been eating so little recently. I think we are going to have wraps as this is something which we love from one of the local takeaways. Of course, this is a treat if there are some leftovers, of course, I can have them for lunch the next day as Joe will not be home by then.

Sunday- Chicken Fajitas. This is a meal which I love and seen as it is going to be me and Jess I thought this would be perfect. I am unsure if Jess has every had this meal so hopefully, it is going to be something which she will eat.  We had the ingredients in which I needed to make the fajitas. I am going to season the chicken myself as we don’t have a kit this time. No doubt I will make too much and I will end up having some of this for lunch on Monday.

Our Weekly Meal Plan 12th July

I can not believe how fast this year is going how are we already in the middle of July. Today I am going to be sharing with you the meals which I have been consuming this week. I am still finding it that I do not have too much of an appetite at the moment. I blame the weather the it so muggy and in the summer I barely want to eat anyway. Anyway on to the meals which I am going to be consuming this week.

Monday- Black Bean and Corn Pitas, this is a meal which I saw on someone else’s meal plan last week. This sounds like a super simple meal, for sure this is something which I need. For sure this is a meal which is very different for me. We love to try and make a wide range of meals. For sure I will let you know how we get on with this meal.

Tuesday- Slow Cooked Hunters Chicken with Wedges, this is a meal which we love. It is something which I order if we do go out for a meal. I saw this recipe on Katy’s site. For me this is a great meal because of course, we do not have to cook in the evening. I can prepare while I am going some work during the day, then it is ready for when Joe comes home.

Wednesday- Peri Peri Chicken and Salad, this is a meal which we decided on for a couple of reasons. One we had some chicken thighs which were in the freezer. This is also do with the humid weather we want something which is a bit more summery. Peri Peri is something which I love anyway and of course, this is cheaper than a meal at Nandos.

Thursday- Chicken Nugget Wraps, this is something which I have been fancying. I actually have the wraps in and nuggets of course, I will be putting some salad in with them. This is something which we have been making as lunches sometimes. I think they are are actually nicer than the McDonald’s wraps and of course are a fraction of the price.

Friday- Spicy Veggie Chilli Burgers, this is a meal which we have had previously. We love to try and do a fakeaway on a Friday. It helps us save money and of course is healthier for us usually. This week we have decided that we are going to have a spicy veggie chilli burgers. This was as result of Joe saying that he fancied a burger.

Saturday- Ham and Mushroom Pasta Bake, I am at work on Saturday so I wanted something easy. This means that Joe can make it for him and Jess and I can heat the left overs when I get home. Pasta is something which we have not been having a lot of recently so this will make a nice change.

Sunday- Taco Dogs, this is another meal we have had before but Joe requested. I actually use the hotdogs and bread. We load them with toppings for example we will have salas, sour cream and also gucamole and cheese. This is something which I saw on Pinterest and to be honest love. For sure this is not a meal which I would have thought about making.

Our Meal Plan 5th July

Today I am going to be sharing with you the meals which we are going to be consuming this week. There is a couple of weeks which we were supposed to consume however, we did not fancy this meal. So this is one of the reason why there is a couple of roll over meals. This week is pretty standard I do not think there is anything special going on which is a reason I prepared 7 easy meals.

Monday- Slow Cooked Chilli, this is meal we should have had last week. This is one we did not have because we went out for lunch instead and was too full we actually went to the bear kitchen. This for sure is a meal which I am looking forward to because we have not had a chilli in a long time. This is recipe can be found on my pinterest if you are interest in copying.

Tuesday- Prawn Stirfry, this is not a meal which we have had for a long time. It is super quick to make which is great because at the moment. I do not have a lot of energy to stand up and cook for long period of time at the moment during this warm weather. I am unsure if we have ever actually had a stirfry which has been prawns usually we have chicken but we have enough chicken in the meal plan this week.

Wednesday- Salmon, New Potato and Mixed Veg. Salmon is something which I have not had in a while usually due to not having any in the freezer. I have decided that I am going to cook the salmon in the oven and then have some new potatoes with herby butter. These are something which I love and of course, we have some frozen mixed veg.

Thursday- Homemade Chicken Kiev and Jacket Potatoes. This is something which I had a few weeks ago, however Joe was not home. I know this is a meal which when I have made it in the past he has loved. So I am sure that it is going to be the same again. This is quick and easy to make we still have some potatoes which can be used as jackets which need using up.

Friday- Chicken Nachos, again this is a meal from last week which we did not get around to doing. It is one which the lovely Katy has on her blog. It is something different for us and hopefully it is something which I am going to enjoy. I love a nice simple meal on a Friday usually a fakeaway. For sure I will be letting you know how this meal goes.

Saturday- Chicken Curry, this is becoming a firm favourite with Jess. We make sure that we choose one which is not too spicy. I am going to be serving this with rice. I have actually purchased some nan bread which is a treat because it is something we rarely have. This is a meal which for sure I know Jess is going to clear plate.

Sunday-  Pie and Chips, we purchased some pie which was reduce a few weeks ago. We have decided that we are going to use it up in order to make some more freezer room. This is going to mean that I have more space when I am solo parenting. If it is warm we may end up having the pie with salad instead of chips.

Our Meal Plan 28th June

Today I am going to be sharing with you the meals which we have been consuming this week. We actually have Joe at home which means I have been able to make a lot more meals. Rather than consuming food which we had in the freezer. I am also liking not having to always cook meal all of the time as this is something which Joe can do as well. This week we managed to still have a cheap week when it comes to shopping even when purchasing pull ups which Jess uses on a night. The total was still under £30. So today I am going to share the meals which we have been consuming.

Monday- Pork Schnitzel, Jacket Potato and Spaghetti Hoops. This is a meal which I was supposed to consume last week. However, I did not get around to having it. This is such a simple meal and we did have some pork steaks in the freezer which we have choose to use up this week. This is a simple meal however, it is a meal we both enjoy.

Tuesday- Chicken Katsu Curry, this is a meal which we love and it is something which I have made several times. However, a couple of weeks ago we picked up a kit from Blue Dragon while we was in Aldi. I am looking forward to seeing how good this is because for sure it is more simple than making your own.

Wednesday-  Lime, Chilli Cod with Chips. This is another meal which we had previously it is something which we really enjoyed. We have a lot of fish in the freezer from a period where we purchased a lot of fish reduced. We are going to make some homemade chips with this. It is a simple meal again something we are loving at the moment. It is not going to matter if it is so warm or not.

Thursday- Slow Cooker Chicken Nachos, this is a meal which I saw on Katy’s blog. Nacho’s are something which we love however, it is not something which I would have thought about making at home. I am busy on Thursday afternoon and unsure what time I am going to get back. So we needed something simple this is why we are busting out the slow cooker. It saves us having to get a takeaway.

Friday- Chilli Con Carne, this is another meal which I have not made for the longest time. It is a meal which for some reason I have been fancying. So I going to make this it’s such a simple meal and if there is leftovers of course, they can be frozen. This does mean I may be able to consume it when Joe is away again.

Saturday- Spaghetti and Meatballs, I am at work again on Saturday. So no doubt this is a meal which Joe and Jess will make and then I can eat some when I get it. This time we have even cheated and purchased already made meatballs. It is just easier when your on your own with Jess. For sure this is a meal which she will love to consume as it is pasta. This may be served with garlic bread depending.

Sunday- Chicken Goujans, Chips and Beans. This is another meal which Jess and I were supposed to consume while Daddy was away. We never got around to doing it s I have promised her this is something which we can have this time. This is a simple meal because sometimes I do not want a lot on a Sunday and would rather spend time with Jess rather than cook.

Our Weekly Meal Plan 21st June

Today I am going to be sharing with you the meals which I have been consuming this week. Joe is still away so this does mean I have a lot of meals which has come out of freezer. I like to stock the freezer up so when times like this happen I do have meals which I can make. Of course, I do not want to be having ready meals. I am unsure if I have actually planned for the weekend because I am going to let Joe choose I am sure he will be wanting some decent food.

Monday- Courgette and Feta Burger, this is a meal which I made a long time ago. I actually made more of them and froze some of them. I am going to serve this I think with salad. For sure this is a meal which I would make again when the weather comes back really nice. These would be great for a BBQ.

Tuesday- Pork Schnitzel, Jacket Potato and Baked Beans, again this is a meal which we have had in the past. I still have some pork steaks in the freezer. I am going to turn this into a pork schnitzel it is so simple yet such an effective meal. This is going to be served with jacket potato and baked beans or spaghetti hoops depending on my mood that day.

Wednesday- Cheesy Pasta, this is a meal which we did not end up having at the weekend. I have to pick Jess up early due to it been parent’s evening and nursery closing early. Jess will have eaten a large lunch so no doubt will not want a lot when she comes home. I am going to plan on doing cheesy pasta and if she doesn’t eat it doesn’t matter.

Thursday-  Leftovers, I just want to get things that we have left in the fridge used up. I am unsure what there is going to be by Thursday however, I think it will be a like picnic tea. Sometimes I do think these are the best kind of meals. Recently I have not been that hungry.

Friday- Takeaway, I think we are going to end up having a takeaway. The reason behind this is because why should we not have a treat now Joe is back. I am unsure what takeaway we will have I would say that it would be Chinese however, I have not been eating a lot so I am unsure if this is a good idea.

Saturday- Spaghetti Bol, again this is another meal which Joe loves to consume. We have all of the things in and we have not had a spaghetti bol for a long time. I know this is going to be a meal which Jess is going to be able to consume.  This may actually be served with garlic bread as well.

Sunday-  Steak, Egg and Chips, this is because we are going to be doing father’s day late. We have decided that we are going to have one of his favourite meals. We actually picked up one of the large steaks which Aldi do. This is going to be something which we share because they are so big. I am going to make homemade chips and have this with egg. I am sure this is going to be a meal which Jess is going to enjoy as well.

Our Meal Plan 14th June

Today I am going to be sharing with you the meals which I have been consuming this week. This week I have actually been solo parenting which means that been making meals for one apart from the weekend of course when I have Jess. This does mean I have a lot of meals which has come out of freezer. I like to stock the freezer up so when times like this happen I do have meals which I can make. Of course, I do not want to be having ready meals and also I have meals which I would as if Joe was actually here which is always a bonus. I managed to do the two weeks which he is away this time.

Monday- Chicken Wrapped in Bacon with Soft Cheese in it and Salad. I wanted a super simple meal for the first night. It does mean that it easies me back into the swing of solo parenting life. This is a meal which I have made in the past a loved for sure. I may actually serve this with some new potatoes which we have become of the fact the weather is meant to be rubbish this week. I think it takes around 25 minutes to cook however, I do not have to stand over it while I am cooking.

Tuesday- Lasagna and Garlic Bread, this is a meal which I already in the freezer so this is going to be super simple for me. I think I may have to share the recipe which I used for this meal in the next couple of weeks. Due to the weather I think I am going to have it with garlic bread. I might actually end up sharing this with Jess. This is a meal which I have not had in a long time so I am actually looking forward to this.

Wednesday- Tomato Soup, this is a meal which I made a long time ago and froze.  For sure this is a meal which I loved I have some fresh bread which I am going to be able to have this with. I wanted to be able to use this up because it has been in the freezer for so long. This is a meal which is going to warm me up if it is still cold. I am going to be making this again should I have a lot of tomatoes left to use up. This is a portion of good comfort food for me to be honest.

Thursday- Chicken Kiev and salad, this is going to be a homemade kiev. Again I am going to be sharing the recipe for this in the next few weeks when I remember. I find this has a lot more flavour in it than the kievs which you purchase in the shops. This is so simple to make and for some reason. I managed to have all of the ingredients in so this is to be great. This may be served with a jacket potato it does depend on what I fancy however, I may actually have this with some salad.

Friday- Pesto Pasta, this is a meal which we did not end up having last week. Instead of having it with chicken I am just going to have it on its own. This is a simple meal because by the end of the week I never can be bothered to do too much so I think this is going to be perfect. This is a meal which I used to have at uni so this is going to bring back so many memories. I am unsure if I have had it since I left.

Saturday- Simple Cheesy Pasta, I am working on Saturday, this meal may not be something which I have. Depending on my mood I may change this however, I do want this to be something super simple. I think my Mum will be feeding Jess for me so she at least will be getting a good meal. No doubt this will be something pasta related because this is a meal which she adores so who am I to deny her this. I might even treat her to some garlic bread as well.

Sunday- Homemade Chicken Nuggets and Chips, of course, its father’s day, however, with Joe away this means nothing. So I am going to make a simple meal. Something which we may not have if Joe was actually home. I just want to make a meal which I know Jess is going to actually go to eat. I have some chicken breasts which I am going to use for this.  At least to make some room in the freezer which at the moment seems to be way too full.
