Preloved Finds May 2019

Trying to purchase less and if we need something can we get it preloved. Is what we are trying to do this year. Jess can grow out of clothes quickly. This means that I end up selling them on Ebay in order to make some money to reinvest in more for her. We have had toys and games for a fraction of their RRP.  EBay is somewhere where I get items which I think are going to be perfect for nursery. As we need clothes we do not mind getting a little bit ruined. Shopping preloved for us is to save items ending up in landfill and to save us some money.

If you have not seen what we have picked up in previous months you can see them here, February, March and April. This month we actually only made one trip to one charity shop.I did not purchase anything preloved from anywhere else.

This month Joe and I actually treated ourselves to a new book each. As you can see from the books which I have been reading this month. I have managed to finish 6 books so of course, I had to replace one seen am allowed one a month. This month I chose the one we fell in love with by Paige Toon. For sure I would recommend this book if you have not read it and you get the chance. To be honest I love any Paige Toon book.  In my local charity, all books are £1 which I do not think is that bad. Usually, I will either send them back for others to enjoy or I will put them on Bookmooch.

Joe purchased When The Eagles Hunt by Simon Scarrow. This is a book which took his fancy he does not read as many as me however, I am sure this is one which he will get finished when he is on an exercise. This seems to be the time when he manages to read the most. Again this was £1 like all books in our local charity shop.

Of course we could not leave Jess out when it comes to books so we picked her up this one. Which is a classic fairy story this has around 10 stories in it which means that we are not going to get bored for a long time. We tend to read a story every single night so we can get bored. These are quite long stories which means that this book may last her a long time. This is something we try to do so we are not having to replace her books all of the time. I seem to remember that this was either £1 or £2 for sure I did not think it was a bad price for what this book is.

Jigsaws, as you may remember, are something which Jess loves. Of course, they are not cheap so when we are able to pick her some new ones for a fraction of the price we do. This one is a 100 piece which is more pieces that she can currently do however, it will come in the future for sure. Winnie the Pooh is always a classic which is never going to age. We managed to get this one for the mere sum of 75p. I am going to keep this one back till some of the other ones which are currently is doing become to easy. I think this is something which Jess is going to have a lot of fun with.

For some reason this time we visited the charity shop there was a lot of jigsaws. This just meant we picked up a number of them because they will come in. Of course, when you are looking to get things preloved it can mean that you have to pick it up there and then rather than when you need them. Of course, they are not going to stay there forever. This Cinderella one is another one which we are going to keep for a little while. 100 pieces may still be too hard for her however, I know it will come in because after all, it is a classic Cinderella. This only cost us 75p which is a steal compared to the RRP of this jigsaws.

The final item which we picked up this month was another jigsaw. They tend to be something which we pick up a lot of preloved. I think this is due to the speed which Jess can get through them. This is one which she may be able to do in the next couple of weeks. I am unsure how long this one is going to last her because it is actually a giant floor puzzle. It does have 60 pieces which are currently about 18 more than the ones which is doing at the moment. Jess has not seen the incredibles however, for her this does not matter she just loves doing jigsaws. Again this is one which I did not think was a bad price it was 75p.

Have you picked anything good up preloved in the past month? Let me know in the comments below

Spice Up Your Life {AD}

It’s hard to deny the fact the 90’s seem to be coming in at the moment. Whether it is the neon trends which all are over the highstreet, the films which are coming out scream 90’s with Aladdin,Lion King and Toy Story all been released this summer. I have heard there is even retro tamagotchi are mean. t to be coming back this year. Of course, currently their is one of the most popular girl bands of the 90’s on tour in the UK. The Spice Girls I know a number of people my age who have been to see them.

When I am having a cleaning session or gym session where I need some motivational uplifting music. The spice girls usually can be found on my playlist. There is something about that music for sure it brings back memories of when I was growing up. There actually on tour until the 15th June however, I know most tickets are sold out you may be able to get our hands on a couple if you really want some 90’s nostalgia. Alongside this tour the Spice Girls are setting out to reward their Best Ever Fan with Walkers. You can see the brand new advert – HERE.

This competition is now closed

The spice girls to me are one of the original girl bands there music just knows how to get everyone going. Whether it is at a party or whether it is simple as a way to keep your motivation up. If you are having a bad day there is nothing better than been able to stick on Wannabe and it instantly makes your mood a lot better. For sure this is something which I have done so much recently. Nostalgia music is for sure something which always seems to brighten up my way. There is nothing better than been able to have a sing along.

I feel like they are going to be even more inspirational and be able to gain more fans as a result of the comeback tour. For sure their is a generation who do not know about the spice girls and girl power. This is a movement which they played a huge part in. This is something which we are still seeing girls supporting girls and been proud of been female.

I remember having a number of their CD’s back in the day before everything was on spotify. There was a time when I was able to sing so many of their songs of by heart. This is something which I am unsure if I can do still.  I seem to remember I also had a number of tshirts back in the day because there were a band I loved. Of course, I wanted to be sporty spice because I was sporty even back then. As you can tell not a lot has changed since then.

Are you loving the nostalgia? Will you be going to see the spice girls this tour?

Turn a Low Maintenance Garden Into a Green Space

If you have just moved into your new home, and the back garden is more suitable for an older couple than your kids. You might want to make some changes. Using your creativity and restore some greenery in the space. Allowing you to enjoy the privacy and relaxing outdoor space. Low maintenance gardens are great if you have limited time to spend outdoors on gardening. Here is how you can transform yours.

Planter Boxes

If you have a limited budget, and don’t want to get rid of your patio and paving slabs, you can use different upcycled planter boxes to get some colour in your garden. You can pick some wooden planters up from your nearest garden centre, and choose the flowers that will keep your garden colourful without having to pay too much attention to them. Don’t forget to choose the perfect spot for each plant. Find the right plants for your boxes at Green Gardener and make the most out of the limited space.

Ladder Display

If you would like to spruce up your patio and make it look greener, you can also get a ladder display.  This will hold multiple pots with various flowers. If you don’t really have the space to grow fruit or vegetables, you can get flowering runner beans to go up the ladder, and harvest regularly. You might also be able to have peas or cherry tomatoes on display. This for sure would save us some money on your fruit and veg bills.

Potted Shrubs

In case you don’t have the ground space for your shrubs and bushes.  You just need to find a big enough pot to create a natural green barrier for your garden. You can use these shrubs to make your patio more private, or to create shade in the summer. Evergreens that grow well in a large pot, but you will have to take care of choosing the right fertilizer.

Raised Flower Beds

In case you cannot take up the patio, but would like to create a small vegetable patch in the garden.  Without taking too much of the lawn space away, you can also use raised flower beds or even try square yard gardening. This method is designed for limited space and will help you make the most out of your garden.

Hanging Baskets

If you want to spruce up your garden on a budget, you might even just get a couple of hanging baskets that will flower all summer. They will not require a lot of work, just regular watering, and finding the right amount of sunshine and shade. The good news is that you can change the flowers you plant in them every year, and create a unique look that you can be proud of. For sure this is something which I may add to ours very soon.

If you have a low maintenance garden, chances are that you will need to add some life and colour to the brick and gravel. The above cost-effective solutions will help you create the perfect entertainment space for the summer outdoors.

Now lets just hope the weather comes nice so you can spend some time in the garden. Instead of having to look at it from inside.

Do you have a nice low maintenance garden?

Eco Laundry Egg Review

The Eco Laundry Egg is something which we have been using for close to 6 months. So I am able to give an honest about my experience with this product.  Being eco-friendly is something which I would love to do a bit more after all we only have one planet.  Anything I can do to help is always a bonus. I heard about the Eco Laundry Egg because I saw it on The Organised Motherhood Instagram. I decided to purchase one because it helps me save money because they are £12.99 for 210 washes. Which is a fraction of the price I bought them even from Aldi they would be more expensive than this for 210 washes I can not remember how much I used to pay.

If you have not heard of the eco laundry egg it is a complete replacement for laundry detergent and fabric conditioner. All you have to do is stick it in the drum of the washer on top of all the washing. This does mean that you do not have to purchase any powder, liquid or gel. You do not even have to add fabric softener even though this is something which I sometimes do if I want the washing to smell extra nice. This is something I usually only end up doing when I am washing things such as bedding.

The way the eco laundry egg does work is there are two types of mineral pellets inside the egg get to work. They produce powerful – but natural – cleaning foam which powers through the fibres lifting off the dirt and grime. The Eco Egg is supported by Allergy UK and the National Eczema Society, the Laundry Egg is dermatologically tested and perfect for even the most sensitive skin. This is amazing if you have newborns or also have someone who has sensitive skin.

As you can imagine we have some dirty clothes with Jess attending nursery and she comes home so dirty. As you can imagine which means that I do get a lot of time to test out the washing powders. I have noticed that some of the other brands which I had been used were unable to clean them. Even though they did have some stain remover in with them I have been using Tesco own I have found it the best. However, when I have been using the eco egg I have noticed that they are managed to clean them. Of course, there are some things which we have not been coming clean because Jess gets filthy for sure.

You can use them up to 60c and as low as 30c depending on what you watch. I have used these and a range of different temperatures in the last 6 months. I noticed that there is also no detergent residue left on your clothes. This is something which has happened before to us but this has not happened at all which is a bonus. There are no harsh chemicals which you actually end up on the clothes which could cause you more problems if you have sensitive skin lucky we are a family who this does not affect.

I actually love that there is no mess, no scooping, slopping, pouring or measuring. Even Jess loves to be able to throw the egg in the washer. When I originally got the eco egg set up was pretty easy, one packet of black pellets and three packs of white pellets, leaving two packs spare. This means that I can top off the white pellets when I am needing to. I think looking at it will be very soon. It tells you to replace the white pellets when they are half of the size which they were originally.

Another element which we love of the eco egg is that we can actually purchase them on Amazon and the refills. Due to us having prime this means we can get them nearly as quick as normal washing powder. You can even buy the refills because it does mean that you can get more of them without having to replace the egg. This does mean you do not have to have as much plastic consumption.  The 210 washes do actually claim to do this for you for a year. This is actually based on doing 2-3 washes a week which I think is the average. I know we do not do too many more than this. This works out at around 6p per wash which is so cheap much cheaper and cost-effective than other alternatives.

The Ecoegg comes in three scents; you can have 100% fragrance free, soft cotton or spring blossom. I actually have the spring blossom one which is very lightly scented you may want to add a fabric conditioner if you like your washing to be heavily scented.  They also come in different quantities if you didn’t want to commit to 720 washes straight away. You can choose from 54, 210 or 720 washes and the prices start from £7.99.

Have you tried the eco egg? If so what did you think?

The Right Clothes for Getting Fit

We’re a few months into the year now and if you’re one of the few who have kept up with your New Year’s resolution, then give yourself a pat on the back. By this time of year, just one in four people are sticking to their efforts of self-improvement.  Many of these resolutions tend to focus on some type of weight loss or healthier living. If you’re in the camp of those who decided to work out more this year, then you want to be sure you’re wearing the right clothes to get fit. After all, you want to feel comfortable when you are working out.  Thankfully, Bonds is here to help. They’ll make your workout not only comfortable but stylish as well.

The most important thing when deciding what to wear while you exercise is your comfort. Make sure you have room to move when making your decision. Activewear comes in all shapes, sizes, and fabrics, so be sure you find something that works for you because you’re going to be sweating in it. I know this is something which I have struggled to find in the past when I have been looking for activewear.

Women’s Workout Clothes

When working out, women have a wide range of clothes from which to choose. Sometimes it can become hard to choose what you want. Bonds offers hoodies, long-sleeved t-shirts, pullovers, and core crops for covering the top half while getting sweaty. For the bottom half, there are leggings, track pants, pilates pants, shorts and more. There is such a wide range available from Bonds that you may find it hard to not purchase everything on the site.  Bonds is not limited just to women who want to work out they also stock to men’s work out clothes as well.

Men’s Workout Clothes

Similar to the women, Bonds has a solid selection of clothes for men to wear while working out. To cover their legs, men have the option of shorts or track pants. While there are long-sleeved tees and hoodies available for their upper half. Don’t worry women if you like me you may end up purchasing some from both sections this is something which I do regularly.

Now that you’re past the 60-day mark in the year, why not take a few moments and treat yourself to some new workout clothes? They’ll give you a little boost in confidence and the freedom to move about without restriction.

I know that some new work out gear is something which I am in the market for at the moment.  What do you wear to the gym or to do exercise?

Picking the Perfect Bedding for your Room

Your bedroom is one of the most important places in your house. It is the place where you spend most of your time so it is important that everything is perfect. Of course, the most important part of your bedroom is actually your bed. The place you sleep and if like me the place you crave to go every single second of the day. It is safe to say that I am in love with my bed.  There is something about the feeling of been super cosy and getting a good nights sleep.  Being a parent means that you need all of the sleep which you can get you never know when the little ones are going to wake. Also if your children are anything like mine they will actually wear you out every single day.

Bedspreads are something which is so effective in helping create the perfect bedding for your bedroom. They are something which in my head I had down as being very expensive.  Maybe this is because they look like they should be a lot more expensive maybe because they look like they should be.   However, I could not have been more wrong about this Yorkshire Linen sell super king bedspreads for as low as £30.  This is super cheap compared to other places where you can be paying double if not more. They do sell the smaller sizes including double and king size if like us you have one of those sizes. They may the room look very finished and polished off which is something which I think is what you want. Everyone wants that perfect bedroom whether it is just so you feel more proud of your house. Or whether you end up showing it on Instagram as I do. Bedspreads can make it look like you have put a lot more thought into the room.  They add a lot so much as a finishing touch and look like you have done more than you actually have. They even can change your bedroom a little bit you know when you get bored but can’t afford to redecorate the room. The addition of a bedspread and maybe some new bedding to go with it. Then you can have a completely transformed room which you will love again.

With the upcoming spring and summer months, a bedspread would be perfect. For those nights when it is a little bit too warm to have the duvet on but I like to boil when I sleep anyway. But if you are not like me and prefer something a bit thinner then a bedspread would be perfect for you. They even act as another layer when it is super cold in the winter which is great. Who does not like something else to snuggle up to in the colder months I always like to be snug. We should really get one because of the fact that I do actually steal all of the covers when we are in bed. So poor Joe ends up with nothing and he ends up feeling the chill.

There is a wide range of designs which you can choose from so this means that you can always get one to match your current decor. You can get ones which are just one overall colour, this would be good of like you have patterned wallpaper. Sometimes you do not want too many patterns I know this is something which I would look into.  They also sell patterned ones if you have one colour walls and want to add some patterns into the bedroom. For sure there are so many different options it means that you are going to find something which works for you.  There is a range of colours as well which also means that you are going to be able to match. I think we are actually going to be doing our bedroom up either this year or next year. There are other elements which I feel are more important for us to do than the bedroom. However,  for sure I know that a bedspread is something which we are very likely to purchase. After all who does not want to be cosy and also stylish at the same time. For sure this is something which I want. I can not get over how affordable they are this does mean that you could have a couple of these depending on what bedding you actually have on at the time. I am sure you can actually find one which is perfect for you and your bedroom.

Have you ever used a bedspread on your bed?

Preloved Finds February 2018

As you may remember I am trying to be conscious to purchase more preloved items. I think that people do not realise how much we do waste. Jess grows out of toys and clothes very quickly I do sell a lot of her clothes which are in good condition. Sometimes I do manage to sell toys as well if I think that they are worth it. Usually, I sell on eBay then things which are not perfect end up in the charity shop. Usually when in there we look if there is anything else we would like. We have had toys and games for a fraction of their RRP.  EBay is somewhere were I get items which I think are going to be perfect for nursery. As we need clothes we do not mind getting a little bit ruined. Shopping preloved for us is to save items ending up in landfill and to save us some pennies.

This month we had a lot from the charity shop there was so much good stuff in there. This could have been because people have been having a clearout after this Christmas.  I am hoping to share every month what we have been picking up. If you have not seen what we picked up in January have a look here.  Jess managed to get some amazing bargains as we went in a fair few charity shops this month. Usually, we only go once or twice a month so we do not end up with too much in the house.  We are always trying to declutter because we always want more space.

The first couple of items which picked up are some Orchard Toys there a brand which we love. There so educational, however,  they are so fun and we can play them as a family after nursery.  The first one which we picked up is Dotty Dinosaurs which was only 50p which I think it is a steal. The reason why is because one of the dice is missing however, this does not affect play. I have been since told if you contact Orchard Toys they will replace missing parts which is amazing. This game is simple you pick a board which is dinosaur shaped you roll the dice which has all different shapes on . Then the one it lands on is the one which you can add to your dinosaur. It also has a colours version of this but we do not have the colour dice.  We have had so much fun playing this game since we got it. Hopefully are going to be getting the replacement dice very soon.

The other Orchard Toys game which we did pick Doodlebugs which is almost like a child’s version of UNO.  This is one which can take a long time so beware because your child may get bored Jess can when we play this.   I think it is going to be one which we are going to let a lot of play out of. This is one which she can play when she becomes a bit older too.  I think I prefer uno to this one as you do not always get a winner this is something which we have had in the past.  For £1.50 you can not go wrong because of the fact that these games can be up to £7-9. I know this has been played but this does not affect our joy.  I will be looking out for more Orchard Toys because we do have so much fun playing these. We do not see many of the Orchard Toys second hand because they are so loved.

The other item which we picked up from the same charity shop is a box of Frozen jigsaws. As you may know, Jess does love doing jigsaws because this is something which she can do on her own.  We do offer her help if she needs it she manages to a lot of them super fast.  Jess does actually complete the 35 ones now.  So we have had to pick up some of the harder ones. We got this Frozen boxset which has a 35, 50, 70 and also 100 these should keep her happy for longer.  I think these are going to be a lot harder and we are going to have to help her do these as they look so much harder.  These only cost us £2.50 which I think is cheap as they are Disney I expect they are around £5-10 in stores.

In another charity shop, we managed to pick up some more jigsaws for Jess which were Disney.  As you can see these Jigsaws actually have 10 in 1 box and are  Princess themed. The princess seem to be something Jess is getting into more as she gets older.  These are only 25 pieces however, the backgrounds of these are hard. I am sure she is going to have to ask for help she did last time we had them out. This is great because it gives us some time together and they will last a while. I was more amazed all of the pieces where actually there for the price we paid. We only spent £1 on all 10 of these. Some of them were also still bagged which was amazing. We are going to have so much fun with these which is a bonus when they are not costing the earth.

Jess is Paw Patrol mad which means that sometimes we do have to watch it. However, it is not always on the TV  which can be a pain when she is demanding it is not on Youtube.  So when I found these I knew I had to pick up these DVD’s. Jess is going to get so much use of this because of how she loves it. These are ones which she does not have on DVD already which is shocking. She has so many of these I managed to pick £1 each for these DVD’s.   These usually are around the £3-4 mark when you see them in Home Bargains and B&M.  These will be great for when she wants a movie day because you can pause as they are episodes.  She does not have the attention span yet for a complete movie which is a little bit of a shame. I am going to be keeping an eye out for any more paw patrol things because it is something Jess loves and has for a while. However, I am unsure how much longer she is actually going to be a huge fan of the show.

I think this month we managed to go a little bit jigsaw crazy  we picked up 4 more jigsaws for her to play with.  The easiest one I guess you could say with 35 pieces is a Peppa pig one. This is one which Jess loved but she claimed at the end of the month that it has become too easy. For us this is then when we know it is time for it to find a new home.  We actually took this back to the charity shop one weekend.  Jess was repeatedly doing this one on her own with no help in a few minutes. I am so proud of how good she is at them . We actually only paid 50p and ot gave her a few hours of fun.

We also picked up a Minnie Mouse jigsaw which is a 50 piece jigsaw hopefully she is going to be able to keep this for a long time.  This does look like there is a lot of background colours which are the same this is going to mean that it is going to be a lot harder for her. She always needs a challenge because this is going to push her. She has not tried this one yet so I am sure that she is going to have enough fun when she finally does get it.  This is going to be perfect for those days when we get home from nursery and she wants to do something. Or on a weekend when the weather is pretty rubbish this is going to be great.

Another jigsaw which Jess picked up is another Disney Fairies which is a 42 piece. This again looks like on which is one which could last for a while because it is harder than some of the ones which she currently owns. Disney is something which she seems to be getting into more and more. I can only see this getting stronger and stronger.. Again this is a steal at only 50p because these are more expensive than this in the stores. There is a wide range of colours on there which is something which Jess is going to love. I do not think this one is going to be too hard for her but she many need some help.

The other jigsaw which we did pick up was a Doc McStuffin jigsaw which is another Disney show. This is not one which we have actually seen so I don’t know the characters. It is a 42 piece jigsaw I am unsure how hard she will actually find this one. If it is too easy it can go back to the charity on one of trips.  If it is a little bit too hard we can work together on this. This jigsaw is one which she doesn’t currently have access to because I have to keep some back.  In case we can not replace the ones which we have already completed for example and we would not have enough space.

Cooking books is something else I like to pick up because they are so much cheaper than paying the RRP. It also allows us to get new recipes which I then can come and share on my meal inspiration Mondays.  The two which we have picked up are the Hairy Bikers Dieters for Life this has a lot which we have made from it. These have a lot of recipes which are healthy which is amazing because this is something which we are trying to do.  I actually picked this book up for £1.50 which is super cheap because it would have been at least £10 when it was brand new.

The other one is a takeaway book which has all the classics in which you order it is so much cheaper and we find a lot of pleasure in cooking meals which we have never done before. There is a hell of a lot less calories which is good for people losing weight but still wanting treats.  This is one which we have made a few recipes from since we have owned it I would recommend this book if you can get your hands on it.  There is so many recipes which I want to make as a result of this book. It cost us £1.50 and for sure it is one which we will be getting more use out of. I am going to keep my eye out for more of these cooking books.

Another item which I picked up is a boxset of books from Next. These are actually baking books which is something I love to do as well. There is three in this set which include Gorgeous Cakes, Chocolate Treats and Cupcakes Mini Bakes. These are going to be amazing when I want some inspiration. Usually, I find a lot of the inspiration on Pinterest however, sometimes there is nothing better than having an actual book. I for sure will let you know when I have made something using this book with all this rainy weather I can see if been soon. I picked up this boxset for £2.50 which is a little bit more than I usually pay however, it is for charity.

What have you picked up preloved this month?

Goals For March 2019

I can not believe that it is March already because February seemed to go super fast.  I did not manage to completely hit all of my goals which I aimed to do maybe because it went so fast.  This month I want to smash it and get a lot done before Joe has some time off in April.  I am going to actually to reflect on the goals which I set last month before I set the goals for March.

Last Month

Personal– I managed to work out 3 times a week which managed to see me lose 2.5kg. I do feel a lot better for this I am trying to tone up but losing weight is a bonus. Start Planning some days out I have a few pencilled in. I have done some up till the end of March which is a bonus. I can not wait to get out and explore more places. Reviews of where we go will be shared on the blog because they are some of the most popular posts.  Cook more is something which I have been doing  I have enjoyed.  It has meant that I have been able to spend time in the kitchen and reducing my stress levels which is a bonus.  I did not manage to make a list of the freezer or the cupboards however, I do now know what is in the cupboards.

Work– this is an area which I managed to fail as such in however, I did manage to achieve one. I managed to double the amount I earnt from my blog this is something I am proud about. Thought I have not been paid for all of the work yet it is more money I earnt this month.  I did not manage to use tailwind a lot this month though I have been pinning a lot more which has seen my traffic go up. 100 followers was not something I achieved either I think I am around the 65 mark so still a little bit off . I pin daily so if you would like to follow me over there my link is here.  Facebook I did not hit 200 followers but I have been posting more often. I have found this has been helping. More people are now engaging which is a bonus I may hit this goal in March. I am only 10 followers away from this goal.

Money– Sell 20 items I actually managed to smash this one and sold on eBay alone 26 items. I still have a lot more which I need to list some of these are only low-value items but all help.  Looking into additional income streams this is something which I have started to do more this month. I still have a way to go because there is so many. Today I  cashed in my first payment from an app which I have been using. Hopefully, March is going to be the month when I look more into matched betting with Cheltenham coming up.  We kept the weekly food bill overall under £35.  There was one which was closer to £40 but some just £25 a week.  I am very proud of this and this is something which I hope to keep this down. My phone bill I managed to reduce by £6 for the rest of my contract. I had actually banked 35GB of data so I can use this if I find that I am not getting enough. I am going to be looking at my gas and electric and see if I can bring these payments down. We currently pay more than we use so are in a bit of credit.

Now on to the goals which I want to achieve in the month of March.

Do more for me– this is something which I have been neglecting in the month of February. I did not manage to even finish a book at all after finishing I think I read 5 in January.  Skincare is another element which I neglected, I could not even tell you the last time I did a facemask. For me, it does not have to be a lot just having half an hour.  To read, paint my nails or something like that in the evenings is what I want to do more of. I think this is an element I struggle with because of the fact I work from home.  I know I need to make more time for myself so I do not burn out or become ill again.

Bake more– this is something which I did a lot in December and January however, I have not done one since my heart cookies for Valentines.  I want to really get back into this so I am not tempted to by as much sweet stuff when we do the weekly shop.   Jess also loves it so I am sure that she will be glad if we get to bake again.  I have been finding some amazing Easter bakes on Pinterest. I  might have to try them and share some of them with you if they’re as good as they look.

Start sorting the garden out for summer- since we moved it has been autumn and winter.  Now it looks like spring hopefully I can transform it into the garden I want it to be.  Somewhere where I can work and Jess can play.  Of course, this is weather dependent.   I am going to do a whole post about the garden when it is done but you can read about my plans for it here.

Spring Clean– this time of year makes me want to sort out and clean the house after the winter months. This could be due it been lighter which makes me want to sort out. I want to clean the carpets this month this is one of the final steps in getting Jess’ room finished.   I may do a room tour at some stage her room is the only one I am fully happy with at the moment.  Currently, I do have a huge urge just to gut the house clean.  It could because I know soon I am going to be putting my own stamp on the house for the first time. I am hopefully going to be sharing the journey on Instagram.

Get two weeks ahead of schedule- this is something which I had achieved at the start of the year however, I got ill at the end of Jan and this went.  I know Joe is going to have some time off work at the end of this month start of next. I want to be able to be spending some of the time with him rather than working all of the time. Even if it does just mean that I have to work half of a day compared to a whole day.  If I have some content scheduled it will mean I do not have to do as much and gives me a break as well.

Use Instagram Stories More- this is something which I have in the past I find that I get better engagement with my followers.  In the month of February, I did actually lose a lot of followers on Instagram. I also think this does give you an insight into my life as well. I do not always show a lot on here. However, I will share a lot of random things on my stories and even some bargains which I have found. If you do not follow me already I am @cupsofcharlotte.  I  aim to upload at least 2 stories per day we will see if this is something which actually happens.

Increase page views by 10%– slowly I have noticed by page view increase.  This does mean that there are more of you reading my content.  I would love 10% more page views this month and I think it could be doable with some work. It is nice to see your blog going somewhere and for more people to be able to read the content that I do create. I have been increasing my page views for the past few months but not as much as 10%.

Share other bloggers work– After all, sometimes we do need a little love from our friends. I want to share work from other bloggers which I have enjoyed reading or similar. It may allow people who follow me but not them to find some new people to follow. Sometimes people see it as a competition to have the most followers but I have found the community to be amazing.  This is something which I want to focus on this month because why shouldn’t we spread the love. I am aiming to share them on different platforms because this may attract different people.

Earn money every single day in March.  I know this is something which may sound crazy however, I do not mean a large amount of money every day. This is going to help having more money to spend on my family and the home. If I earn £1 a day at the end of the month that is £30 extra. I do not earn the majority of the money in this house however, I do like to contribute to the bills and days out having more money always helps.

Completely Look into Matched Betting. This is something have been meaning to do I have just not got around to it.  I know there are some big racing festivals coming up in March and April and this would be a great time to start earning some more money.  It looks pretty simple to do I think I just need to find some time to sit down and dedicate to this.

Have at least 2 no spend days a week- spending little amounts is something which I can end up doing and then I wonder why I have spent so much. I am aiming to do a no spend not taking my cards out with me for a couple of days a week. This will stop me making purchases which I do not need. Then we can have more money for things which we actually do need.

I am only going to do 3 money goals this month I feel like some of them are rather large goals.

What do you want to achieve this month?

Creating a Perfect Garden

The spring looks like it is it could be on it’s way which is always a bonus. Who does love a bit of sun because it makes me feel a lot better and more productive. Due to the fact that it is very bright. I actually work from home it does mean that I can work from my garden. We only moved into this house last autumn. This does mean that we have been unable to do anything to improve it. This does mean that we are going to have to spend the money this spring to make it how we want because it is a blank canvas.

We are going to have to pull up the dead flowers because there is so many of these in the borders. This is going to be simple job and it is going to look more effective.  We also have some planters which need some TLC in order to allow some more flowers to blossom in them. I think I am going to have to purchase some top soil which then will allow them to flourish. This can also be used in the flower beds which we are going to have as well.

A small path is going to be created which will allow us to have an area from the patio to the side garage door. This is an area which we have managed to wear away in the grass because of constant walking on it. I think we are going to get some stepping stones which will make a pretty path. This is something which I am hoping is not going to cost too much but solve an issue which we are having.

Some small solar panel lights is something which I want to add to the garden for a couple of reason. I want to do this is so there is some light in the garden should we be out their after the sun should set because this is something which we may do. It also makes it look pretty so this is something which something which I want to do. Plus if it is starting to come dark Jess can still be able to play outside until it is completely dark without a problem.

The patio is going to need a good deep clean because this has become horrible. Once this is clean it is going to be ideal to be able to put a garden set out there which will allow me to do some work out their. I have my eye on some nice sets which are not going to set me back that much money.  This will allow them to have BBQ out there in the summer and also dine out their. Jess sometimes want me to sit outside when she is playing this means that I have going to have to somewhere comfy to sit.

We have a pond in the back garden and this is something which I want to remove this because it is something which I think is unsave with Jess. I do not want her to fall into it because she could seriously do some damage. We are going to be unable to put anything in it so I think we are going to put some pavers down where it is.

We are going to paint the Wendy house which is outside because it is looking a little bit worse for wear. But all it needs is a lick of paint and this is going to look a lot better. This is an areas which Jess plays in so much so this is one of the reasons why this is going to get painted. It should not cost a lot of money for us to do this and the wendy house if we was to buy it new is not cheap. We do not need to do anything else to this apart from maybe sorting out the roof because it is also a bit a mess and we do not want it to leak and ruin all of her toys.

Another element which we are hoping to do this summer is get some rabbits and a decent size rabbit hutch. We are looking at getting a pet because we think that it would benefit Jess so much. We are looking at getting rabbits because we have a garden which will be able to accommodate. This will show that she needs to look after things more as she grows up. I know I am going have to do a lot of the work when we get them because Jess is not old enough to do it all.

What plans do you have for you garden?

Boom25 – Shop Online & Win Your Order Back

When I am shopping online I am always looking to save money. Whether it be getting money off vouchers and been able to save that way. Or using cashback and getting money back from my purchases. Well this was until I was introduce to Boom25. This is a new cashback site hitting the UK with a twist you have a 1 in 25 chance of actually winning back your full purchase for your items.

Making sure I get the best deal on something is one of my passions I hate spending more money than I need. One of the best things which I have found about Boom25 is the fact that there no sign up fee. This does mean it is not costing you to earn money. You have a 1 in 25 chance of winning you whole shop back which means essential you getting things you need for free.

For me this is a fun experience while online shopping because let’s face it we all do everything online now. You have to be the 25th person to order from that retailer. They also have daily booms on which means that you may only have to be the 10th person. This mean that you have 1 in 10 chance of getting your purchase for free. As you can see today Groupon is a 1 in 15 chance of winning. Even if you do not manage to win you get a small bonus so when you do win you get even more money.

One thing which I have found when I have used cashback sites in the past is sometimes the lack of retailers on it. This is not a problem which Boom25 have there are over 900 stores to be earning from. These are from a range of different sectors as well. It also includes Ebay now you will know if you have been following me for a while this is something I use regular. I would love to win some of the purchases which I make back. Something which I think I am going to do is any purchase I do win put the money towards Christmas presents. You do not even have to share bank details or anything as you get your money through paypal. This does mean it is even more secure which I know for me is a huge bonus.

It is so simple to set up because who wants the hassle of lots of forms when they are wanting to do some shopping. Boom25 only need your email address a password and your name. This means that you can have your account set up in a couple of moments.

Once you have your account set up you can either click through the categories to find the one you want. There are hundreds of course, ranging from travel, sport and health and beauty. You can also keep scrolling down and find the popular area. This has the brands which people are using the most so currently companies such as Justeat, eBay and deliveroo. This makes it even easier for you to be able to get cashback on the companies you love the most.

You find out if you have been the lucky winner when Boom25 send a spin the wheel email out. This will show you who the lucky people are to have won there purchases. It its worth noting that when you win your purchase back you do not get the paypal fees which I seem to remember are 3.4% + 20p.

This is a good way to save money on your purchases. For me it is going to be a cashback site which I use regular. It may not replace the one which I use completely but it is a contender. For sure, I will be using it for sites which I can not get cashback on otherwise. The biggest win someone has had is £4.445 which is amazing I would not be complaining at that back.

Why not try Boom25 out for yourself and see if it can work for you. You may be able to get all of a purchase back rather than 1% which some other sites may offer you. It could be worth having a good it’s money you would never have had. That is the way I actually see it.

Have you tried Boom25? If so what where you thoughts.
