5 Under Rated Lush Products

Today I am going to be sharing with you a number of under rated products from Lush. Of course, most people will think of Lush and bath bombs as this is what they are famous for. I have had some amazing bath bombs which I am sure the majorty of you will have. However, some of my favourite products have been not been bath bombs or shower gels. Today I am going to share with you them so you can enjoy them as well.

Seanik Solid Shampoo

Lush solid shampoos can last 40-60 washes depending on amount used and hair thickness and length. This solid shampoo is made of seaweed, sea salt and lemon bar which gives you great shine and volume. I find a lot of shampoos do not give shine. I have also been able to train my hair so it only needs washing once a week. Of course, these last a long time and now cost £8. For me there well worth the money and last forever for sure there under rated.

Silky Underwear Dusting Powder

This dusting powder absorbs moisture and leaves the skin smooth, matte, and hydrated.I find it great for helping prevent chub rub which can be a problem when the weather becomes warm. Another purpose I have found this to be great for is under boobs to stop them sweating. Another problem I face due to having big boobs. This may seem expensive at £9 for a 60g bottle however, I promise you it lasts forever, I do not think I have actually ever finished a bottle. It does last you that long because you only need a small amount.

R&B Hair Moisturiser

This is a product which I have been using for a number of years. I do use this instead of a conditioner, I think one of the reasons I can do this. Is due to the fact that I only wash my hair once a week It is so thick but seems to give my hair all the moisturiser it needs. This could be as a result of the coconut oil and avocado butter. Usually I pick up a 100g pot which is now £14 and this lasts me a good few months. I have done a full review on this product here.

Volcano Footmask

This is one which I tend to reach for in the summer months. It helps me get ready for the sandle or flip flop weather which we can dream about living in the North of England. This is a foot mask contains deodorising ingredients and  pumice means it also doubles up as a foot scrub. Of course, it gives you 20 minutes off your feet time which is always great as a busy mum. I love how this is leaves my feet. It takes a long time to use a tub and this is £9 for 125g. Again I have done a full review on this product.

Grease Lightening Spot Treatment

This is something which we have used for the longest time as well. You only need a small amount gain like a number of lush products so this does mean that it is going to last for a while. There is antibacterial tea tree and witch hazel which helps cleanse and soothe. I have found this does allow my spots to go down over night which is always a bonus because nobody likes to be spotty. I have had mine for the longest time now and it is actually £9 for sure this is going to last a long time.

What would you see are your most underrated lush products which you own?

Our Meal Plan 5th July

Today I am going to be sharing with you the meals which we are going to be consuming this week. There is a couple of weeks which we were supposed to consume however, we did not fancy this meal. So this is one of the reason why there is a couple of roll over meals. This week is pretty standard I do not think there is anything special going on which is a reason I prepared 7 easy meals.

Monday- Slow Cooked Chilli, this is meal we should have had last week. This is one we did not have because we went out for lunch instead and was too full we actually went to the bear kitchen. This for sure is a meal which I am looking forward to because we have not had a chilli in a long time. This is recipe can be found on my pinterest if you are interest in copying.

Tuesday- Prawn Stirfry, this is not a meal which we have had for a long time. It is super quick to make which is great because at the moment. I do not have a lot of energy to stand up and cook for long period of time at the moment during this warm weather. I am unsure if we have ever actually had a stirfry which has been prawns usually we have chicken but we have enough chicken in the meal plan this week.

Wednesday- Salmon, New Potato and Mixed Veg. Salmon is something which I have not had in a while usually due to not having any in the freezer. I have decided that I am going to cook the salmon in the oven and then have some new potatoes with herby butter. These are something which I love and of course, we have some frozen mixed veg.

Thursday- Homemade Chicken Kiev and Jacket Potatoes. This is something which I had a few weeks ago, however Joe was not home. I know this is a meal which when I have made it in the past he has loved. So I am sure that it is going to be the same again. This is quick and easy to make we still have some potatoes which can be used as jackets which need using up.

Friday- Chicken Nachos, again this is a meal from last week which we did not get around to doing. It is one which the lovely Katy has on her blog. It is something different for us and hopefully it is something which I am going to enjoy. I love a nice simple meal on a Friday usually a fakeaway. For sure I will be letting you know how this meal goes.

Saturday- Chicken Curry, this is becoming a firm favourite with Jess. We make sure that we choose one which is not too spicy. I am going to be serving this with rice. I have actually purchased some nan bread which is a treat because it is something we rarely have. This is a meal which for sure I know Jess is going to clear plate.

Sunday-  Pie and Chips, we purchased some pie which was reduce a few weeks ago. We have decided that we are going to use it up in order to make some more freezer room. This is going to mean that I have more space when I am solo parenting. If it is warm we may end up having the pie with salad instead of chips.

What are you planning on having for meals this week?

Little Diet Changes That Won’t Break The Bank

Do you not all agree how hard it is to stick to a diet?! One minute you’re really on a roll with it, and you can’t help but feel how amazing you’re doing, and promising yourself you’re going to stick to it. Then the next, the pizza delivery guy is knocking on the door, and the diet is out the window again. A big excuse that we all like to have, is that eating a healthy diet is just getting too expensive. It always seems as though a healthy shop costs more, because you have to buy all of the individual items to make a dish. Whereas if you were doing a really unhealthy shop, everything would just be a one packet meal deal, and life would be easier. But money can’t be the reason for you falling off the diet wagon. We know how easy it can be to eat healthy. You just have to know a few little tips and tricks that will help you out. So if you’re desperate to lead a healthy lifestyle. That starts with tackling your diet, here’s how you can do just that!

Meals Using The Same Ingredients

This is a top tip if you’re really looking to save money. We think that a lot of the time, people are buying ingredients for one meal and then one for another. With tons of leftovers that need to be thrown away. You should try making meals plans at the start of every week.  Making sure that two or three contain pretty much the same ingredients. This is so easy to do, and it makes your food shop so much cheaper. But don’t risk your meals becoming boring. You really want to make sure that your healthy diet is actually tasty. Another main reason that people fall off the wagon, is because food can just get a bit bland when it’s not a pizza.

Use Own Brand Products

Own brand products are seriously underrated. People assume that because the store has brought out their own brand, it’s not going to be as tasty. But own brand food can taste just as good as normal, especially when it’s cooked into a meal. Things like loose leaf tea, tinned fruits + vegetables, and cereals are all really good for your body. So many brands out there are producing them daily, but trying variations is so important to see what suits you! It’s the same type of product, you’re just getting it so much cheaper.  As it isn’t a big food brand that has produced it. Pretty much every store does their own brand, so you should try a few out and see which one you love.

Grow Your Own

Another top tip for those of you who feel like healthy food is expensive, you could just grow your own. If you don’t really use your garden for anything, or you have a lot of space, this is a super good idea. It’s so easy to grow fruit and vegetables, it really will save you some pennies on your weekly shop as well. Plus, it gives you a little hobby to keep up with!

How do you try and save money while on a diet?

Refreshing The Bathroom and Kitchen

*Gifted Item*

We have been in our house for nearly a year now this does mean we have found areas which need improving. The main areas which I find this can be a problem in is the bathroom and the kitchen. The grout in the upstairs bathroom has been a problem since we moved in. I have tried a range of different things to try and make it look a lot cleaner. Where as in the kitchen the sealant has become discoloured and it is also coming away. I know this is something which we may have to fix in the upcoming months.

I was recently sent two items from Rainbow Chalk, the liquid chalk specialists. Google and Google from Rainbow Chalk promise an affordable and quick solution when it comes to tired, discoloured sealant and grout. They do not even break the bank with the sealant been £3.99 and the grout pen £3.50. They offer precision application and are fast frying. There water-based pens which are non-toxic.

Rainbow Chalk promise up to 60m coverage for narrow grout joints. This is great for us as we have a lot of tiles in our shower cubicle.  The sealant pen is water-resistant, and boasts up to 30m coverage. For sure this is going to be more than enough for me. The pens whiten and prevent regrowth of any mould, with its anti-fungal formula. Which means that you should not get any mould or horrible things. On your grout or sealant.

The pens could not be more easy to use. All you need to do is shake them when the lid is on and press down on the nib till the ink starts to come out. Then you simple need to follow the grout/sealant. It takes around a couple of hours, to be dry and waterproof. I have found the trick to do it in the morning then it’s ready for when you need it.

I can not believe how much difference there is in both the grout and the sealant. I can not wait to see how long both stay whiter as a result of using these pens. I am hoping they last a while for sure I have plenty of product left in these pens which means I can do this several times. For sure I would recommend these because they are so cheap and effective. 100% this is cheaper than actually having to regrout the tiles or doing the sealant again around the sink. It is also something which I can do even when Joe is away.

Have you ever used sealant or grout pens in order to whiten or restore them?

Charlotte xx

I was sent across the Grout and Sealant pens from Rainbow Chalk, however all words and images are my own.

Our Meal Plan 28th June

Today I am going to be sharing with you the meals which we have been consuming this week. We actually have Joe at home which means I have been able to make a lot more meals. Rather than consuming food which we had in the freezer. I am also liking not having to always cook meal all of the time as this is something which Joe can do as well. This week we managed to still have a cheap week when it comes to shopping even when purchasing pull ups which Jess uses on a night. The total was still under £30. So today I am going to share the meals which we have been consuming.

Monday- Pork Schnitzel, Jacket Potato and Spaghetti Hoops. This is a meal which I was supposed to consume last week. However, I did not get around to having it. This is such a simple meal and we did have some pork steaks in the freezer which we have choose to use up this week. This is a simple meal however, it is a meal we both enjoy.

Tuesday- Chicken Katsu Curry, this is a meal which we love and it is something which I have made several times. However, a couple of weeks ago we picked up a kit from Blue Dragon while we was in Aldi. I am looking forward to seeing how good this is because for sure it is more simple than making your own.

Wednesday-  Lime, Chilli Cod with Chips. This is another meal which we had previously it is something which we really enjoyed. We have a lot of fish in the freezer from a period where we purchased a lot of fish reduced. We are going to make some homemade chips with this. It is a simple meal again something we are loving at the moment. It is not going to matter if it is so warm or not.

Thursday- Slow Cooker Chicken Nachos, this is a meal which I saw on Katy’s blog. Nacho’s are something which we love however, it is not something which I would have thought about making at home. I am busy on Thursday afternoon and unsure what time I am going to get back. So we needed something simple this is why we are busting out the slow cooker. It saves us having to get a takeaway.

Friday- Chilli Con Carne, this is another meal which I have not made for the longest time. It is a meal which for some reason I have been fancying. So I going to make this it’s such a simple meal and if there is leftovers of course, they can be frozen. This does mean I may be able to consume it when Joe is away again.

Saturday- Spaghetti and Meatballs, I am at work again on Saturday. So no doubt this is a meal which Joe and Jess will make and then I can eat some when I get it. This time we have even cheated and purchased already made meatballs. It is just easier when your on your own with Jess. For sure this is a meal which she will love to consume as it is pasta. This may be served with garlic bread depending.

Sunday- Chicken Goujans, Chips and Beans. This is another meal which Jess and I were supposed to consume while Daddy was away. We never got around to doing it s I have promised her this is something which we can have this time. This is a simple meal because sometimes I do not want a lot on a Sunday and would rather spend time with Jess rather than cook.

Of course, like every meal plan this is linked up with the amazing Katy. I get a lot of the inspiration from her and the linky which she runs. If you are struggling and consuming the same meals I would recommend checking it out. You may find a meal which you love.

What meals are you planning on consuming this week?

Adding A Touch Of Personality To A Lifeless Room

It doesn’t take a lot to transform the look of your home, even the smallest details can do it. However, it’s easy to go too far the other way from ostentatious and end up with rooms that look like they have no direction, no style, and no personality. Even if you’re going for the minimalist effect, here are a few of the little touches you can use to ensure it still has some personality.

Show what you love

There are fewer ways to show the personality that’s distinct and unique to you than by showing what you love above all else through your décor. There are a lot of ways to incorporate hobbies and interests into your décor. A bookshelf is the oldest way possible, but some also like to frame movie posters or to make collages of their favourite record album art. However, one of the most heart-warming ways of doing is by creating a photo wall, showing snaps of the most important and joyful moments from your life to display.

Contrast your textures

If you’re on the current trend of aiming for clean, smooth surfaces such as wooden floors, painted walls, and other similarly minimalist choices, then your room has plenty of style already. It just needs a little contrast in texture and the right use of soft furnishings can do that. Sisal rugs can be an excellent choice for breaking up a large bare wooden floor, keeping it natural while still adding that contrast. Soft furnishings in general area great for adding a spot of tactile variety, such as throws and new upholstery for your furniture.

Splash some colour around

Having a unified colour scheme is one thing, but it can look a touch tacky and uninspired if absolutely everything in the room fits in with that colour scheme 100%. As with your textures, a little contrast in your colours can do a lot of good. Choosing some low maintenance houseplants is one of the easiest ways to add that contrast. However, wall art can serve just as well, if you take the time to choose a piece that fits with the style or period of the rest of the room.

Light it up

One of the biggest mistakes in interior décor you’ll see anywhere is the believe that a single light fixture to give the room the warmth and lighting that it needs. More and more are discovering the power of accent lighting. That is, the use of additional lights to banish hard-to-reach shadows, to give your lighting some depth, and to make the room feel a lot warmer and more welcoming. In the kitchen, this could mean recessed lights beneath drawers while in the bedroom or living room, a great table lamp can add a lot to your lighting, as well.

When it comes to adding personality, you don’t need to go too off the wall. A few touches to complement the furniture choices and to give a glimpse of style can be more than enough.

What have you done to lifeless rooms in order to make them have more personality?

6 Ways That Travel Helps Your Child’s Development

Travelling with kids can be a bit of a pain sometimes, especially when they’re younger and you’re going on long journeys. Navigating the airport, getting to your hotel, and finding your way around a new country is tough at the best of times. When you throw young children into the mix, travel is incredibly stressful. There’s also the cost to consider because taking the whole family away is going to be expensive and when you’re already trying to maintain a budget. While making sure that the kids have everything that they need, travelling all of the time might not be an option.

So far, travelling with kids doesn’t seem like a great idea if it’s going to be stressful and expensive, but that doesn’t mean you should cancel your family trip. Travelling together is a great way to relax and recharge your batteries but, more importantly, it’s great for your child’s development. These are just some of the reasons why travel is great for your children.

It Introduces Them To New Experiences

Trying to introduce your child to new experiences helps them to understand more about the world and it also makes their lives more full and exciting. If your child never goes outside of their comfort zone at all, may not be very adventurous in later life. They may be afraid to try new things, which can have a big impact on their lives. Sometimes, it’s hard to find new experiences when you’ve got a set routine of taking them to school and going to work etc. When you travel, you have the opportunity to give your child experiences that they would never have back home.

It Increases Tolerance

The main reason that people are intolerant of other cultures is that they simply don’t understand them and they haven’t been exposed to them. It’s easy to be suspicious or fearful of another culture if your opinion of them is only based on things you hear. Rather than a real experience of what those people are like. Taking your children to different countries from a young age gives them the chance to meet people from other cultures and learn about them. Before their opinions are coloured by anything that they see on the news or things that other people tell them. This means that they will grow up to be far more tolerant and accepting of other cultures which is a very important value to instill in your children.

It Helps Them At School

When your children are learning about history or geography, they might not find it that interesting and they may switch off from these lessons. That often happens because they don’t really understand the significance of what they’re being taught and they feel quite removed from it. But if you travel to places and they can see these things first hand, they’re far more likely to get involved with learning about them and their performance at school will improve. For example, if your children are learning about ancient Rome, why not take them there to see the Colosseum up close and get them more excited about it?

Languages are another thing that some children struggle with at school but if they visit the countries, they can practice their language skills. Being surrounded by people that are speaking the language and learning a bit more about their culture will give their lessons more direction and help teach them how valuable it is to be able to speak to people in their own language when you’re travelling.

It Teaches Them To Be Adaptable

Travelling rarely goes completely as planned and there are always going to be a few hiccups along the way. It might be that your flight gets delayed or even cancelled or maybe there is a problem with your hotel reservation. It could even be something simple like a restaurant reservation that was made for the wrong date. When these little problems happen, you need to think on your feet and adapt to the situation to sort it out. Even if it isn’t a big problem, it gives your children the chance to see how you react to difficult situations and how you can be spontaneous. This means that in later life, when things don’t quite go to plan, they won’t panic and they’ll be able to think rationally about how to deal with the situation.

It Teaches Them Independence

This one doesn’t really apply when your children are younger because you can’t exactly let them go wandering around on their own in a foreign country, but as they get older, travel can teach them to be more independent. When they’re a bit older, they will start going on school and sixth form student trips or even going away with their friends. Going to another country without you will give them the chance to learn to be independent because they can’t easily call on your for help and they will have to learn to get by on their own for a while. These skills will be essential when it comes time for them to eventually leave home.

Did you travel a lot with your children?

Our Weekly Meal Plan 21st June

Today I am going to be sharing with you the meals which I have been consuming this week. Joe is still away so this does mean I have a lot of meals which has come out of freezer. I like to stock the freezer up so when times like this happen I do have meals which I can make. Of course, I do not want to be having ready meals. I am unsure if I have actually planned for the weekend because I am going to let Joe choose I am sure he will be wanting some decent food.

Monday- Courgette and Feta Burger, this is a meal which I made a long time ago. I actually made more of them and froze some of them. I am going to serve this I think with salad. For sure this is a meal which I would make again when the weather comes back really nice. These would be great for a BBQ.

Tuesday- Pork Schnitzel, Jacket Potato and Baked Beans, again this is a meal which we have had in the past. I still have some pork steaks in the freezer. I am going to turn this into a pork schnitzel it is so simple yet such an effective meal. This is going to be served with jacket potato and baked beans or spaghetti hoops depending on my mood that day.

Wednesday- Cheesy Pasta, this is a meal which we did not end up having at the weekend. I have to pick Jess up early due to it been parent’s evening and nursery closing early. Jess will have eaten a large lunch so no doubt will not want a lot when she comes home. I am going to plan on doing cheesy pasta and if she doesn’t eat it doesn’t matter.

Thursday-  Leftovers, I just want to get things that we have left in the fridge used up. I am unsure what there is going to be by Thursday however, I think it will be a like picnic tea. Sometimes I do think these are the best kind of meals. Recently I have not been that hungry.

Friday- Takeaway, I think we are going to end up having a takeaway. The reason behind this is because why should we not have a treat now Joe is back. I am unsure what takeaway we will have I would say that it would be Chinese however, I have not been eating a lot so I am unsure if this is a good idea.

Saturday- Spaghetti Bol, again this is another meal which Joe loves to consume. We have all of the things in and we have not had a spaghetti bol for a long time. I know this is going to be a meal which Jess is going to be able to consume.  This may actually be served with garlic bread as well.

Sunday-  Steak, Egg and Chips, this is because we are going to be doing father’s day late. We have decided that we are going to have one of his favourite meals. We actually picked up one of the large steaks which Aldi do. This is going to be something which we share because they are so big. I am going to make homemade chips and have this with egg. I am sure this is going to be a meal which Jess is going to enjoy as well.

Of course, like every meal plan this is linked up with the amazing Katy. I get a lot of the inspiration from her and the linky which she runs. If you are struggling and consuming the same meals I would recommend checking it out. You may find a meal which you love.

5 Things To Consider When Moving House

It’s a time in our lives that we must all go through at one time or another. We love where we currently are because we’re creatures of habit and we fall in love with our almost personified homes.Usually we cannot stay there forever – well, some of us can if we’re lucky. We either need an upgrade, or we need something more convenient for the future.

Some people enjoy the moving process as they think about all of the potential, and the excitement is the dominant feeling. Others, however, tend to feel the pressure and the stress of the whole ordeal. Whilst it’s something that requires quite a bit of thought, moving house isn’t a terribly difficult process overall. Sure, there are a few technical bits and pieces, but if it were so difficult, hardly anyone would get anything over the line. If you’re at the stage where you’re in need of a new place, and you’re not too sure what to think about, let’s talk about some simple stuff.

The Type Of Home

As we mentioned before, you need to pick a home that suits your situation. It would be nice to be able to choose whatever luxurious place we want but, unfortunately, we have to live in the real world. If you’re currently not in a position to commit to a long-term home.  Then you can look online for apartments or other similar properties to rent. If you do have the money and the commitment, then you can scan through sites like Redrow to find the perfect place for you. It’s good to check out new properties from house builders as there is the potential of having custom homes made to suit your preferences.

Can You Get To Work?

It’s an important aspect to consider when relocating. You need to be able to commute to and from work comfortably in order to maintain a living. After all you still need to be able to pay the bills. You may find an otherwise perfect place to live, but if it’s inconvenient for your job, then that’s a big drawback.

Can The Kids Get To School?

Likewise, if you have children, then they’re going to need to have a wonderful education. A nice morning routine with a comfy route to school every morning is just what they need rather than a rush and an awkward schedule. At an impressionable age, they’ll need to be punctual and frequently attending so that they can learn as much as possible. Plus who wants to have to be up before they need to be.

What Is The Area Like?

It would be wise to do a little research into what the potential new area is like. You’ll probably want to live in a nice, peaceful and friendly neighbourhood, so it’s only natural for you to do a little research into it all. When viewing the house, you could ask the agent and maybe even local residents what it’s like in the community. Also maybe visit the property at different times. You do not want to be stuck finding a lot of teenagers hang outside your house on a night.

What would you look for if you were to move house

Charlotte xxx

Are there clubs and groups for people to join? Is there a local park? It’s good to know if there are any recreational places in any new town or village. You don’t want to get there and have nothing to do after work and on the weekends.

10 Tips for First-Time Parents

Looking down and seeing two lines, or the words pregnant.  These can feel like daunting moments everything building up to the birth of a brand new baby. Once your Son or Daughter has been born you may have feelings of what the hell am I going to do, I am never going to be an amazing parent or parents.  These are just some of the feelings and emotions I went through when Jess was born. I only had 14 weeks between finding out I was pregnant and becoming a Mum for the first time. You can read more about that here. Today I am going to share with you 5 tips for when you become a mum for the first time.

Batch Cook before the birth

This is going to be something which I am going to do should we choose to have another child. I remember not having a lot of energy to be able to do things such as cook. This could have been as a result of having a C Section. By batch cooking this means that there is enough meals for you and your family in. You will not have to worry about things such as cooking and having to do the food shop in those early days. Of course one less thing to worry about is of course a huge bonus.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a birth plan

This is something which I chose not to do. I saw it is as because a lot can change and your birth plan is the ideal scenario. I choose not to dot his then it did mean that I was not disappointed that I did not get the natural birth everyone wants. The feelings that I failed did not happen to me because I did not have my heart set on one way of giving birth. Jess ended up been born by C section as her heart rate was dropping a lot lower than they would have liked. I did not end up with the guilt of having the C section. So I would recommend not panic if you do not have a birth plan.

Get a range of size clothing

I was told that Jess was going to be a small baby should I have listened and been keeping her. I would have gone in to panic and bought a lot of tiny baby and newborn clothes. However, when she was actually born she was 8lb 2oz so this is not exactly small. I would recommend getting a range of sizes because the scans are not always accurate when predicting size. At least this way you are going to have clothes which fit your baby. Of course, even if they are a little bit too big for them they always have a bit of growing room.

Do things your way

People want to share with you the way that they did things and that you are doing things wrong. There were multiple things which people said that I was doing differently to how they would do this. For example, I would wash Jess’  dummy when she had dropped it on the floor.  Some people would have just given her it. There is a wide range of things people will tell that they will do different from nappies to how you feed your baby and weaning.

You’re still killing it even if the house is a mess

People see these celebs who snap back and look like they are doing everything they did before they have children. This is not the case for normal mums we do not have the time or the energy we did before children.  As long as your baby has been fed and they are clean. That is all that matters they are not going to remember the tidy house. This applies for when they are toddlers and children. They grow up so fast that you want to spend the time with them and creating memories.

Ask for help if you need it

If you feel overwhelmed by staying home all day with your tiny little baby, ask for help.  You can ask for help even if it is so that you can do something as simple as getting a shower or have a hot coffee.   You are new at motherhood and it is something which I do not think I have mastered at all and I have had nearly 4 years practice. I sometimes have to ask for help now because things can become too much.

Love Your Body

You have just birthed a baby no matter how you had the baby.  C section or a natural birth is one of the hardest thing you can do.  Your stomach is going to be baggy and squishy, you are going to feel flabby all over, and it’s going to take time. It has been home to your baby for 9 months, it may take 9 months or longer to get back to the shape that you were before. I am not back to the shape which I was before I had Jess and she is nearly 4.

Take your time before allowing visits

So many people will want to come and see your new baby. They, of course, are excited to meet your new arrival but they do not think of you and the recovery.  You may not want to have visitors as soon as you are home. I was lucky to be able to spend 7 days in hospital this does mean that I had a bit of time to recover before I had visitors.  Make sure you feel like your up to it before inviting them over. You can say no to people if you would rather stay in your pyjamas and enjoy the newborn bubble.  People if they actually care about you will understand and will come around when you want them to.

Don’t tell people the name you like

This is one which people have told me they would not do. This is due to people trying to put you off a name which you may like for your child. People have been known to air their views on names and try and make people change their mind. If you do not tell people this will not happen. Once you have chosen your name and your baby is here for some reason people seem less likely to tell you they do not like your child’s name. I am not too sure why this is the case but it seems to be.  Should we have another baby we will not be announcing the name until after they have been born.

Do Your Research Before Buying Products

This is one which I would recommend doing if you do not want to waste money. There are millions of baby products out there which the brands claim you need. However, for the majority of them this is not the case. You have other products which can do the job. Meaning that you are not spending as much money. For example nappy bins are one which some people tell you that you can not live without. However, for us we just used to put dirty nappies straight in our outside dustbin. This saved us the money of purchasing one and of course the space. There is a lot of reviews of different products. I always try and review things which we have that we love. By searching around reading reviews you can save money. You may find a better product which would work for you and for less money.

What would you recommend to first time parents?
